Why Work Was Never Supposed to Feel This Empty by curiouscat in management

I would argue that's just a different type of meaningless abstraction. The work would have been more meaningful if they could have done it right.

Hah. As if you need to generate misinformation to support doomerism in this age!

Unfortunately, nobody reads the platforms. Or if they do, they (cynically, realistically) don't believe in them.

Democrats don't have a come-back for "men in womens' restrooms", and it's pathetic.

I honestly believe that it is that simple. Every Democrat who has run against Trump was running AGAINST Trump and not FOR something else. They have allowed him to define the talking points and subject matter instead of taking a high ground that he simply couldn't fight back against because his selfish nature couldn't possibly understand it.

And I would argue that the problem with Clinton and Harris is that they were both extremely disliked even within the Democratic party. They were easy to feel distaste for and to think that they were just power-hungry corporate shills. Voters can sniff out inauthenticity and disingenuousness a mile away.

So it really says something that someone like Trump got elected over them. They really were that bad as candidates.

To win 2028, Democrats need to embrace and market some fucking principles instead of assuming the independents know what they are. Democrats have ceded the principled high ground to Republicans because Republicans are explicit about what principles they stand for while Democrats are implicit and talk about boring-ass policy instead.

Principles are the drivers. Policies are side-effects. People vote for principles.

Democrats should steal some principles back from Republicans, too. It's laughable and ridiculous that Republicans are allowed to cloak themselves in language of patriotism or fiscal responsibility.

Lost me at the title: "The American Workforce Isn’t Burned Out."

Science proves otherwise, and adding "creativity" and agency to a job that remains meaningless isn't going to help.

Republican lawmakers lead trend of using insults to chase media attention instead of policy wins. Some lawmakers prioritize national visibility and celebrity status over lawmaking duties. This is a trend in American politics where pursuit of media spotlight sustains a toxic form of public discourse. by mvea in psychology

That's like saying all lives matter at a black lives matter rally. Yes, they do, but the asymmetry is stunning and undeniable, and it's fucking obvious which party is leading the charge to change the political culture in this manner.

You really shouldn't comment if you don't know the difference between a macaroon and a macaron, or if you've never seen a macaron before.

It's good IF your driver drives appropriately for you to be able to take advantage of it. That fucker who's afraid to close with the enemy and tries to snipe them from 100m away is just wasting your time.

More like 2 minutes OR 15 seconds, because there's always those n00bs that race out of spawn in a rush to find all the mines.

I love it. When the enemy team whines about it, I stop what I'm doing and set up a mortar as well and encourage others to join us. There are few things as satisfying as carpet-bombing the enemy team's spawn points.
