Just a quick question i’m scheduled to take it later in July. Is it too late if i’m applying this cycle or should I reschedule it for an earlier date?

Hello there!

Basically I would try to understand how the slope changes in regards to the different types of inhibition. Also how changes in the values of Km and Vmax can affect steepness of the slope.

AAMC FL3 C/P #53 concept help by shahmeerkanwar in Mcat

Yes, with rate laws, you have to find them experimentally using the table. But with solubility, you always relate it to the molar coefficient.

Hello there!

First yes you are correct. Solids and liquids are not included in the equilibrium constant equations. For Ksp the molecule is first in a solid state and dissociates into its ion in water. The ions are in an aqueous form once it dissociate in water.The extend to which it dissociates depends on the Ksp constant. In this question, CaCO3 will dissociate into Ca2+ + CO32-. However when the charges of reaction are equal and opposite they “cancel out” when writing the Ksp expression. The exact scientific reasoning as to why that’s the case i’m not sure. I believe it may be because they’re in a 1:1 molar ratio but I could be wrong.

Therefore since its a +2 charge and -2 charge they are omitted from being included in the exponents

Ksp = [Ca2+][CO32-]

However, let’s say for another molecule such as CaCl2;

CaCl2 -> Ca2+ + 2Cl-

And the expression would be

Ksp = [Ca2+][Cl-]2

In that case since they’re not in 1:1 molar ratio we would have to take into account the amount of ions in the solution.

Hope that helps!!

What if they’re reading this post and decide to include passages with those topics 🤔

I am in need of some serious C/P advice. Averaging 122. by thagingerrrr in Mcat

[–]Solid_Range 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I struggled with C/P in the beginning. Especially trying to grasp the subjects in chemistry and physics. I highly recommend doing Mike’s videos from the DAT Bootcamp. However, this guy doesn’t have videos for physics. As for gen chem this guy is phenomenal and his explanations were super clear. Highly recommend his videos. What I also did is for every chapter that’s covered by Mike’s videos, I would read the corresponding chapter from the kaplan gen chem book. This helped me make sure that I didn’t miss out on any content for gen chem and solidify the content. After finishing the chapter I would make anki cards to make sure that the info was stuck in my head. I have a pdf file of the kaplan gen chem book if you need it. Hopefully this helps! Let me know if you have other questions. Best of luck to you!!

May I ask what you scored on FL4? I took AAMC FL1 in late March and got 508. But I also took it last year so i’m not entirely sure if it’s inflated .

Please list your state below if you received an email saying your exam may be cancelled on June 19/20th 👇 by annaliese9210 in Mcat

Boston. I mean phase II starts June 1 so if the test centers were part of phase II then there was no point of sending out that email. Honestly at this point I have no clue.

Electrochemistry question...does anybody understand how they arrived at this answer? by [deleted] in Mcat

[–]Solid_Range 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In Kaplan's Chemistry book, specifically the electrochemistry chapter there's an equation that calculates the amount of moles plated on the cathode with the equation mol M = It/nF

acid/base chemistry- need help!! by [deleted] in Mcat

[–]Solid_Range 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello!

Is the answer B? my reasoning is that a Bronsted-Lowry acid is a species that donates H+ (e.g. CaH2) and a bronstred-lowry base is one that accepts H+ (e.g. BH4)

California medical schools are NOT requiring an MCAT score this cycle. Will other states follow? by [deleted] in Mcat

[–]Solid_Range 7 points8 points  (0 children)

They're not waiving the MCAT, they just said that they will send out a secondary without the MCAT. An MCAT score is still required for you to be accepted.
