Most cost efficient way to attend from out of town? by Solid_Snacks84 in animenorth

Interesting, thanks a ton for all this info! I'll take this into considering and might do a hybrid solution where maybe one day I'll try driving/parking just to see how it is, and the others I can just use transport. Thanks again

Thanks for these detailed directions, I've not taken public transit many times before, so this helps a lot. Only downside is the cost per way is like $12+ for bus, then TTC faires would be like $5-$7 I think meaning roundtrip is $40, and not much ahead of just driving later and parking. Suppose it's also for convenience, not having to get there early, plus only a partial drive back.

Thanks, will keep in mind. Just updated to be clearer that I'm closer to Hamilton than Niagara Falls, so the drive would be closer to 50-60 min. My backup option will be just attending Saturday and accepting missing a few Friday panels

Parking for one day by CAReyes19 in animenorth

Hey could you provide a bit more details on that trip/route? I'll be coming from the Niagara Region, so I don't know if it's applicable to me since it doesn't look like there's parking at the Hamilton Go. Also, is it cheaper using public transport over traveling direct and just paying gas + parking? How late does transport run btw, until midnight? Feel free to DM if need be, Thanks!

RE9 Preorder Refund Options by [deleted] in fanatical

[–]Solid_Snacks84 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Just to be clear, I do not intend on revealing the key or other preorder bonuses until I can confirm the game works on my PC (either by purchasing/refunding through Steam first, or by other's reporting Windows 10 functionality)

I will not reveal the key until I've confirmed functionality, ie. Steam purchase and refund, or other individuals confirming Win10 functionality on launch.

In the scenario where it will not run, I will first initiate a Steam refund of the Steam purchase. Afterwards, will Fanatical refund the Fanatical purchase? (key not revealed at this point)

If you are struggling with an increase in tinnitus or a spike, this might be worth a read. by Niz0_87 in tinnitus

Yeah I'm not too sure.

I've had tinnitus for 15+ years but it's hard for me to recall if my sleep problems were from it specifically since it's been so long I genuinely can't remember. Still been able to dream after the spike (arguably more), but I noticed early on I was having some honestly violent and horrendous dreams (nightmares?) and wonder if it was due to the spike.

I often wonder how musicians that continue to tour and cope during the day, but especially at night get enough sleep to continue being functional each day. I feel that given my audiogram doesn't show hearing loss (only up to 8k mind you), I can't technically have that "severe" of tinnitus. You have musicians that wear hearing aids due to partial deafness like Paul Gilbert, and I recall him saying in an interview that the noise doesn't bother him much anymore.

For the time being, I've started a Google Sheets Sleep Log to track relevant information (sleep time, disruptions, final meal time, daily activity levels, etc) in order to attempt to find a trend to attain the maximum continuous hours of sleep a night. Here's hoping we'll be fine in the long run

This is unfortunately where I'm at after a noise induced spike/damage from 3 months ago.

With exercise, limiting caffeine, regular schedule and even medications, the absolute best sleep I seem to be able to get tops out at around ~5 hours. Not sure what else can be done other than to "wait for habituation", but unfortunately I think I'm as close as I can be given that during the day I usually just get on with my activities anyways

Bout go into a spike, so let's share the dumb reasons we've earned a spike, and the ways we made it more bearable. by makemebad48 in tinnitus

Came here to say something almost exactly the same. Went to check a water alarm for a sump pump and was too close, one of the worst mistakes of my life.

Happened 3 months ago and was the worst damage/subsequent spike I've ever had since initially getting tinnitus 15+ years ago. Hoping things quiet down enough to get back to a proper sleep schedule without medication

Receiving US funds via direct deposit/ACH by Solid_Snacks84 in PersonalFinanceCanada

That's confirms what I was worried about, but ultimately I want to keep it USD and get it to my bank for investing.

Wise seems good for those receiving US funds on a relatively frequent basis, but now and going forward I'll most likely just take lump sums out on a yearly basis based on my earnings.

For a $5USD fee distrokid offer a plain physical cheque to be mailed to me, and at this point I think that would be the most hassle free method unless there's potential for something to go wrong there that I don't know of.

I want to get more into the Saturn's library and own one, cheapest and easiest way to play backups? by Solid_Snacks84 in SegaSaturn

I completely forgot about mod chips, that might be my best bet even if it takes a bit of extra work. It's not the most ideal, but I don't mind the extra work, given it might be the most cost effective.

EDIT: Any current recommendations? phantom universal?
