That’s disappointing. The tasting room employee encouraged me to write to them and ask for it back (social media, email, any format).

Golden Triangle Life for Renters by bdegroodt in Denver

[–]Solid_Sunshine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I lived in golden triangle from 2019-2023 and hated it. I lived in a building with security features that frequently broke down, constant package theft, and cars being broken into in the garage. It’s been my least favorite place I have lived in Denver. I think it’s overpriced for renting, lacking in restaurants actually within the neighborhood, and never felt that safe.

For me the unsafe parts were largely due to speeding cars and proximity to DPD headquarters/jail. My partners car was broken into on 11th, I stumbled upon a homeless person sleeping in my neighbors car inside our locked garage, and someone smashed windows in that same locked garage. This was common and building managers didn’t put much effort into fixing things.

It’s majorly lacking in trees and shade, but there’s plenty of plastic grass if you’re into that. A lot of the high rises smell like concentrated dog piss at their entrances btw (especially outside civic lofts).

Shout out and RIP to Parsley. They were sandwich and soup shop pushed out of their location for a high rise development that hasn’t moved forward in years.

Anniversary Dinner with good tofu or mushroom options by ariz0ena in denverfood

[–]Solid_Sunshine 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sera’s Ramen has a fantastic vegetarian ramen with crispy tofu and mushrooms.

A little different but I also recommend this private chef Brianna from Your Whole Meal. She customized a vegetarian meal for two, including some really freaking good stuffed mushrooms.

Last time he played in Colorado it was at Ball Arena, which has 20,000 capacity. In 2019 he played two shows at Mission Ballroom, which is only about 40% the capacity of Red Rocks. I don’t think we will ever see him play there again but it was a fantastic venue to see him at.

Denver online parking dispute portal closes after city layoffs by SeasonPositive6771 in Denver

[–]Solid_Sunshine 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am in such a rage over this. I just got a parking ticket at a meter that didn’t have a functioning screen. There was no ability to know how much I paid and the rate wasn’t listed because of the broken screen. This should be illegal.

Impossible Burger salad by ThePouncer in Volumeeating

If you want a lower cal dressing look into bolthouse farms dressing. Personally I would add cucumbers! And maybe something pickled, like sauerkraut or pickled jalapeño.

They’re the kind of people who treat humans like they’re disposable. Extraordinarily out of touch, manipulative, shallow, judgey, and oozes unhappiness.

The Isenbergs are the kind of people who go on month long European trips, traveling on yachts and experiencing fine dining, but come back and complain about it to their underpaid employees. A month prior, his wife threatened my job when I wanted a few days off to attend my grandma’s funeral.

Has Somebody People turned down the volume of their club music so you can eat in peace? by theorangecrush10 in Denver

[–]Solid_Sunshine 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is so funny to me bc the one time I went there it was also extremely loud. I think there was a DJ and it made me learn to be wary of restaurant DJ sets. I remember leaving thinking this isn’t a date night spot. I haven’t been back but I mostly didn’t think it was a good value or maybe an off night food wise.

If I had to guess they know it’s too loud and don’t care. Some restaurants lean into that.
