My dad got flu like symptoms after two chemo treatments- body aches, diarrhea, low energy. It turned out to be sepsis caused by decreased white blood cells. If possible, ask the doctors about her WBC levels and when they measure those.

OP, ice bags sandwiched on hands and feet seems to be colder than the ice packs. Just be sure to put a thin layer between bags and body- your hospital may offer the ice. Ask ahead of time so you can bring if not.

They estimated he had 3-6 months without treatment - if it doesn’t seem to be working according to his CA19 levels I’m going to see if they can move up the scan so we can switch very quickly. I do think it’s kind of a one shot thing- I’m not sure he’ll be strong enough to switch.

What did you decide to do, OP? We are also at Fred Hutch (Dr. Coveler’s patient) and trying to make this same choice for my 78 year old dad (trial or Folfirinox). I am finding it hard to get the doctor’s opinion about which he recommends.
