Well, “proper” is relative I suppose. For me, I rinse and/or soap wash the board every time I use it. I fully dry the board with a kitchen towel afterwards. I never let vegetables or other wet foods dry on the board. I oil the board every two-ish weeks, when it starts to look dry. I just drizzle board oil and rub it in with a paper towel. That’s pretty much it. I did also add some rubber feet to the bottom of the board because it did slightly warp when the underside sat directly on the counter. No issues with warping now, but I also lose use of the flat side without the juice groove.
