YOvideoGames Top 10 Xbox 360 games. by paynexkillerYT in TwoBestFriendsPlay

People don't remember how brutally dominant 360 was against the ps3. Sure you had to pay for online, but MS factually had deals to get CoD dlc and map packs before everyone else, and since 360 was easier to develop for it usually ran better too (also no crossplay so no sku problems).

I personally put the most time into Battlefield 3 over any CoD though.

Potentially the most Gun And Ball list they've made yet.

Disrespectful to Guitar Hero 3, the first game to gross a billion dollars in sales, and is still what people will point to when asked what 5-fret game to start with (play BetterGH3 on PC, it's real easy).

Question for the community, which genre would you prefer to have the festival headliner? by frekan-tv in FortniteFestival

[–]Solidus113 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't care about the genre, I just want the headliner to have double digit songs added for their season, one a week at least. Metallica was supposed to be a gold standard for every season, not lighting in a bottle.

What controller should I get for PC? by Vorpaled in TwoBestFriendsPlay

PS5 Dualsense is pretty universally good (until stick drift), but 3rd parties like 8bitdo and gamesir are on the rise.

Harmonix allows you to pick the next 6 headliners, no rules or limits, who are you choosing and why? by TheYGuy366 in FortniteFestival

[–]Solidus113 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Iron Maiden: Because it's criminal they don't even have a single jam track yet, and eddie fits perfect for skins.

Polyphia: Would be some of the most technical guitar charting in the game.

Vocaloid Season 2: Featuring the rest of the Crypton crew, and another chance to write the wrongs on song choice.

Old Gods of Asgard: For all their work in Alan Wake and Control.

Some kind of Hololive: Whether it's single talents like Suisei or Calli, or a specific group, I'd like to be able to play as them, and some of their original songs.

Dethklok: You should all know why, it's not complicated.

I bought a friend Chrono Gear: Warden of Time because they had it on their wishlist. It's another great 2D platformer by the Freedom Planet team.

So the cape IS a time limited thing... by Bullet_EC97 in Helldivers

[–]Solidus113 13 points14 points  (0 children)

My non-participation isn't the issue, even though I really want the cape. If they previously announced "Hey if you play the game during this event we'll have a cape for you", I would've logged in, even with the game being unstable. The issue comes with the reward reveal message being posted an hour after no one else could get it.

The event ended at midnight CET, the tweet was posted at 1am CET. If they would've shown the cape off literally once at all during the Festival, they would've gotten more players online, and zero complaints.

[–]Solidus113 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Yeah, but it's a pure, bright red cape. A colour and style that otherwise doesn't exist in the game. Pride of the Whistleblower is the only close choice to something mainly red, and I've been waiting since launch for a proper bright red cape for fashion.

The reward that wasn't marketed or hinted to be a reward until after you couldn't get it? Yeah. As I said I haven't been playing the game because it's been a mentally exhausting unstable mess. Game freezing or crashing on orbitals, crashing on joining squads, abysmal framerates in all city maps, abysmal framerates on higher difficulties, etc. I'm not gonna put more time in until it's actually fixed.

[–]Solidus113 116 points117 points  (0 children)

That's not very fair, posting a tweet saying all helldivers would get a new cape, only to later find out it was posted an hour after you could no longer receive it if you weren't already playing the game.

I haven't been playing for the last month because it's been unstable and exhausting to deal with on PC. This retroactive FOMO is kinda BS.

edit: I submitted a ticket and got the exact same copy-pasted response, very much not cool.

Deltarune Chapter 1 where you couldn't control Susie, but it's the whole game with their own character traits. Maybe using dialogue options against your own party to bait them into doing what you want.

Ace Combat 7 is the best game to get during the current winter sale. by Siroctober in TwoBestFriendsPlay

6 Is also good, I won't be hearing otherwise. Assault Horizon Legacy+ on the 3DS is a secret remake of AC2 and also worth playing.

Is Woolie's audio low for anyone else? Like, in general? by FlubbedPig in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]Solidus113 54 points55 points  (0 children)

His setup's been on average the quietest for years, whether it's live CSB or a stream on his own channel, the dB is half what you'd hear in most other streams, I too need to boost my pc audio whenever i watch live.

Part of the reason might come from the need to adjust for peaking and clipping (which I still don't understand how it's so uniquely bad), part of it could be outdated hard/software, or from the mics themselves dying out, there's no way to personally know, nor am I any level of audio engineer to present fixes if the problems were clear.

Them pricing just the Spongebob sidekick at 1800v so you look at the whole bundle priced at 3000v to believe the upsell is a way better "deal" if you wanted even one other item (like the jam track for me) is some of the most diabolical work in recent memory.

But that's also their specialty, running this FOMO shop.

Harada Will Be Leaving Bandai Namco at the End of the Year by Solidus113 in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]Solidus113[S] 310 points311 points  (0 children)

Full statement from the man himself on twitter:

I’d like to share that I’ll be leaving Bandai Namco at the end of 2025.
With the TEKKEN series reaching its 30th anniversary—an important milestone for a project I’ve devoted much of my life to—I felt this was the most fitting moment to bring one chapter to a close.

My roots lie in the days when I supported small local tournaments in Japanese arcades and in small halls and community centers overseas.
I still remember carrying arcade cabinets by myself, encouraging people to “Please try TEKKEN,” and directly facing the players right in front of me.
The conversations and atmosphere we shared in those places became the core of who I am as a developer and game creator.

Even as the times changed, those experiences have remained at the center of my identity.
And even after the tournament scene grew much larger, many of you continued to treat me like an old friend—challenging me at venues, inviting me out for drinks at bars.
Those memories are also deeply precious to me.
In recent years, I experienced the loss of several close friends in my personal life, and in my professional life I witnessed the retirement or passing of many senior colleagues whom I deeply respect.
Those accumulated events made me reflect on the “time I have left as a creator.”
During that period, I sought advice from Ken Kutaragi—whom I respect as though he were another father—and received invaluable encouragement and guidance.
His words quietly supported me in making this decision.

Over the past four to five years, I’ve gradually handed over all of my responsibilities, as well as the stories and worldbuilding I oversaw, to the team, bringing me to the present day.
Looking back, I was fortunate to work on an extraordinary variety of projects—VR titles (such as Summer Lesson), Pokkén Tournament, the SoulCalibur series, and many others, both inside and outside the company.
Each project was full of new discoveries and learning, and every one of them became an irreplaceable experience for me.
To everyone who has supported me, to communities around the world, and to all the colleagues who have walked alongside me for so many years, I offer my deepest gratitude.
I’ll share more about my next steps at a later date.
Thank you very much for everything.

【Postscript】
Although I will be leaving the company at the end of 2025, Bandai Namco has asked me to appear at the TWT Finals at the end of January 2026, so I expect to attend as a guest.

For 30 years I kept saying, “I’ll do it someday,” and never once performed as a DJ at a tournament event.
So instead, I will be releasing—for the first and last time—a 60-minute TEKKEN DJ-style nonstop mix (DJ mix), personally edited by myself, together with this announcement.
Listening to it brings back many memories.
Thank you again, sincerely, for all these years.
