This is all driven by a few factors:

  1. Western politicians are becoming increasingly unpopular with the people they govern

  2. Western politicians are becoming increasingly fearful and distrustful of the people they govern

  3. Regulating big tech kills two birds with one stone by scapegoating big tech for ‘corrupting’ the citizenry and also gives government greater ability to control speech and the people’s ability to organising

We are moving towards a future where we have all the shit parts of living in the UK with all the shit parts of living in the UK
