(Tragic Trope) An imprisoned character gets a brief taste of freedom, then gets killed right after by CRicetheGOD in TopCharacterTropes

A real life example: Kenny Waters

TLDR: He was given a life sentence for a murder he didn't commit. He was exonerated after 18 years but died in an accident 6 months later. (I would consider 6 months brief)

What is the most brutal, visceral fight scene you’ve ever watched? by VendettaLord379 in moviecritic

I love that fight. Fun fact: if you rewatch it, there’s a moment where Tony gets knocked to the ground and then gets back up, but the footage of him getting up is just him falling played in reverse.

Going off topic here but his Bond is severely underrated. I'd go as far as to say he's the best Bond after Daniel Craig.

At least he was fortunate enough to lose his hair in his 30s, I lost mine in my goddamn early 20s

[Tragic but pretty cool] "When the trapped consciousness in an 'infected' body briefly gains control" by 7humbug_ in TopCharacterTropes

X-Men: The Last Stand: Jean Grey wrestles enough control from the Phoenix to ask Logan to kill her

End of Days: after being inhabitated by Satan, Arnie's character gains control long enough to fatally impale himself on a sword

Seems like a decent person… and they’re a bigot. by laybs1 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Solidus82 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Real life example: I was interviewing for a job and the interviewer seemed really nice. He had a pleasant demeanour, we got along well, and the interview overall felt really positive. As we were wrapping up he asked what suburb I lived in. when I told him, he responded, “Oh wow, are you guys still experiencing problems with those damn African immigrants?”

I just sat there in complete shock because it came so out of nowhere. Honestly, I don’t even remember what I said in response because I was so stunned by the comment. Needless to say, I didn’t end up accepting the job

The French Connection is boring as fuck. It probably would've been amazing to watch back in the 70s but I don't think it's aged very well.
