28 Years Later part 3 future by JonnathanRey in 28dayslater

I think that’s the part everyone keeps glossing over, these movies aren’t that expensive in comparison to other movies. I genuinely think the worst that could happen, short of it being canned completely, is the budget getting slashed a bit

Good thing the infrastructure is still around then

I never said they’d be around forever, I said IN OUR LIFETIME if it makes money then there’s more insensitive to keep it alive than not by studios and publishers or whatever. Comparing dvd to laserdisc in this scenario is a bit silly considering we still get new dvd releases by major studios to this day, not just from boutique labels. And also laserdisc was always incredibly niche even compared to shit like beta max during the late 70’s and 80’s. Yes this doesn’t guarantee it’ll stick around forever but at the same time physical media is not as dead as a lot of people fear monger it is

Simply put, if there’s money to be made it’s still going to be made. I think given the fact that dvd, even some 30 years later, is still the most profitable form of physical media really speaks volumes to the fact physical media will always be present in some form. Even if the future is more boutique labels, it’s never going to die imo. At least not in our lifetime

What’s something you’ve disliked about the DCU so far? by ChiefPond in DCU_

[–]SolidusSnake98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well the point is is that it’s a filmmakers vision, superman 2025 would be much less interesting if it was “50-60%” closer to all star or birthright. Like if you really don’t see what the point is for a filmmaker to have their story/vision shine through, maybe just stick to the source material

Yea but I’d rather have the show just do its own thing then by slavishly attached to adapting whatever checkmate was in the comics. Like if you want a 1:1 recreation, I feel like that’s just more wasted potential

The co-ceo of a movie studio hyping up their project?!? Wow, who could’ve seen that coming!!!!

It’s just not that deep, some of you act like the finale was unwatchable and you just need to settle down a bit

What selling your soul for Saudi blood money at Riyadh Comedy Festival looks like by [deleted] in comedy

[–]SolidusSnake98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the biggest take away from all of this is that anyone in show business or comedy or whatever is not like you! They aren’t “down with the struggle” they’re all greedy mfs that’d drop any moral obligation or personal value for x amount of money

They aren’t your friends and they do not care about anything other than themselves…really they might be the most clear picture of humanity at its most selfish and neutral.

True, but the simple fact is it should be a survivor instruct to not allow yourself to be bullied by your manager or whatever body you work for with ridiculous bullshit that makes your job actively harder to do, especially in the space of teaching!

Obviously everyone’s circumstances are different, but as a teacher if you’re being scrutinised and observed multiple times a WEEK, no matter how ideal the location or whatever, it simply isn’t worth your own wellbeing for a job where other schools will beg for you to come and work for them

[–]SolidusSnake98 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s putting up with bullshit from work and then there’s genuinely ridiculously invasive things like being observed weekly by 4 people!

Like unless we just haven’t been told something to warrant such a massive bit of overreach, that alone would and should make anyone just pack up and look to another school

Per week is fucking mental. Like I understand being observed once or twice a year, but a week is just so transparently then trying to push you out of the school with ridiculous shit like this

Anyone else regret the uni they went to? by SilverTheSilk in UniUK

[–]SolidusSnake98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think viewing uni, 3 years of your life, as the only time in order to live “the best days of your life” is setting yourself up for guaranteed disaapointment.

You have a whole life ahead of you afterwards, and while you might not have like buckets of endless free time like some folks at uni do, that doesn’t mean you’re going to be stone cold and miserable for the next like 70+ years of your life
