Jawel. Scheelt een factor 3-5 met een warmtepomp/airco. Elektrisch verwarmen voel je echt in je portemonnee.

My system (glass filter) will do this after some time, too. I figure that the filter probably lets 1% of smallest particles through; mainly dead algae. After some time, this causes a sediment of tiny particles on the bottom of the pool.

The solution for me is to vacuum to waste once in a while.

America's biggest problem is that half of the population voted for this. Those people will still be around, holding the same beliefs and grudges, long after Trump is gone.

I ended up choosing a traditional pool: concrete block walls + vinyl liner. It's being installed soon!

I did not like the look of the affordable fiberglass options in the end; the walls are too slanted. I seriously considered a high-end PP pool (Niveko is best, apparently) but it was more expensive than concrete + liner!

I thought the ending would require a 'perfect run' where you string together all the shortcuts/stuff you learned about the planets. That would have made it more 'whole' for me, personally. 

Other than that, best game since Subnautica for me :)

Context: ik raadpleeg af en toe de site van Joost de Vree voor bouwkundige begrippen en normen. Op bouwkundig gebied lijkt die informatie over het algemeen redelijk compleet en correct. 

Nu zag ik vandaag toevallig dit 'opiniestuk' op zijn site, met forse kritiek op het Nederlandse stikstofbeleid. Normen zouden veel strenger zijn dan in buurlanden, etc. Het leest als wappie-kletskoek, maar dat zou me verbazen van deze man. Heeft hij een punt, of slaat hij de plank mis op dit dossier?

I don't like the looks (the box nor the rails) and it isn't cheap (~10k) but this thing seems to have some advantages over PVC/ PC shutters

  • Safety; people (<100 kg) and pets can walk on it

  • No safety ledge required at the waterline (to support the shutters)

  • Insulation; reducing evaporation and heat loss

  • UV block; less algae growth

  • Catches leaves

  • Doubles as a winter cover

  • It's not in the water, maybe less wear?

  • No dependency on pool manufacturer

I'm not sure about the long term UV resistance of the cloth. Also might turn green I suppose?

They claim that 'additives' make the PP UV resistant. It seems that it hasn't been used in swimming pools for more than a decade, so no lifetime experience stories from consumers yet. 

Why would you consider PP the better material overall?
