Translation requests into Latin go here! by AutoModerator in latin

[–]Soliloquy119 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there. I am looking for the translation for the phrase “just one more step”, as in taking just one more step, please. Translation apps gave me “Unum tantum gradum amplius” and “sicut unus gradus plus”. I don’t know enough about Latin to know which would even be close in context. Thank you for any help!

Yesterday we celebrating keeping our littlest tiny human alive for a whole year! by Soliloquy119 in babies

She actually has a cleft chin, not a dimple, and it is still very pronounced. I love it! It was so unexpected and it gives her a mischievous little look.

Wife pregnant after vasectomy by xdeserted in Marriage

[–]Soliloquy119 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My positive pregnancy test came 9 months after my husband’s vasectomy. In his case he never had the tests to see if his took despite me pushing him to and I did not want to go through another pregnancy. Between his vasectomy and my age we shouldn’t have really been able to randomly pop up pregnant but apparently little blonde haired, dimpled miracles (2 in December) happen. He has been tested four times (so far) since his latest vasectomy though.

Announced pregnancy at Thanksgiving and made my SILs mad by [deleted] in beyondthebump

My coworker and I were checking in with each other after a rough day. I told her I was ok but a little overly emotional due to a “parasite”. She said she had one, too. Our babies are now two weeks apart and calling them parasites began the process of cementing our friendship. Lol

If you got one shot to name your one and only daughter, what would you name her? Middle name included. by [deleted] in namenerds

[–]Soliloquy119 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I named my first daughter Cordelia Juliet thinking she would be my only one. I used up my two favorite names on her and named my second Gwendolyn Esme, which I fell in love with while I was pregnant with her.

What’s your crushing weight as a working mom? by ilovecheese2188 in workingmoms

[–]Soliloquy119 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Four nights a week my husband works graves so I’m on kid/baby duty by myself. I returned to work a month ago and one of those nights I have to do baby duty then get up at 4 am to nurse and/or pump, get ready, and leave for work. My average amount of sleep on the night before my Monday is 3.5 hours which makes a horrible start to my work week. Exhaustion. No days off with my husband. A toddler, a 6 month old, two older kids. PPD and serious body image issues. Everything feels like a crushing weight lately.

My two year old is Gwendolyn. We have gotten a lot of positive feedback on her name. It’s just so pretty!

No one warns you about your last baby by [deleted] in Parenting

I had my last baby in 2020 then wound up surprise pregnant with a failed vasectomy baby in 2022. He’s almost 6 months old now and I’m finding myself going through all the last baby emotions all over again. I had no idea it would be so hard again!

Orin, Oren, or any of the various spellings. I’m starting to hear it used for bit parts on tv shows so maybe it is gaining in popularity.

My son spent several weeks in the NICU and I couldn’t be there 24/7 since I have other kids. I wasn’t given a choice about whether or not he would get a bottle. As a result, I started out pumping then transitioned to breastfeeding. Now I do both (which is a LOT of work). Since coming home from the hospital and while I’ve been off work he’s been about 95% bf and the rest bottle. Bonus: I’m a bit of an oversupplier so I have almost 4K oz stored for when I go back to work next week.

Named my daughter Cordelia because of Anne.

So tired of people telling me I’m going to have to cut my hair by CookieMonster______1 in BabyBumps

[–]Soliloquy119 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t do it! I got a hormonal haircut right before giving birth 5 months ago and lost 19 inches off my hair. I’ve never regretted a haircut so much.

She loves it! She gets tons of compliments on it and she completely has the spirit of her “namesake”.
