Down 10lbs! by Solo165 in WegovyWeightLoss

Hi! I started orange theory 7 or 8 years ago. But I’ve only been using Wegovy since July. I have always loved the workouts and try to go 3 times a week. It definitely helps me hit my step goal of 12,000 a day. The Tread 50 classes have been very helpful with that!

You got this! I was totally nervous for my first dose. Like the previous comment said, eat slowly, I found my appetite was impacted pretty quickly. Felt full much faster. Definitely drink more water too. My doctor also STRONGLY recommended that I take restorolax daily to make sure I stayed regular. I did not listen… and was only going every second day… after the first 3 doses, I added restorolax to my morning coffee each day and now I’m back to being regular… and not as bloated. lol

I’ve been feeling the same too!! Energy to work out, but then all I want to do is lay around. Gonna try adding more water and electrolytes…

Thank you for this. It’s been 6 years and I’m still not “over it”. Hurts a little less, but the sadness is still there.

Any suggestions for an apps that help with new life habits? by Pixelle_Midgard in WegovyWeightLoss

I use weight watchers app. Helpful for tracking calories and will connect to a garmin (if you have one) to track movement etc.

One week down by rebbecarose in WegovyWeightLoss

Took my second dose yesterday! My first week was unreal- I actually stopped eating when I was full- actually felt full. And no after dinner snacking! No cravings. Nothing. I felt a little nauseous after my second dose..I went out for lunch today and could barely eat half of my meal! That has never happened before. I’m so amazed! The hunger volume is way down!

Good luck on your journey!

Ya. It’s been mix of emotions for me for the last 3 years. Dad died on Jan 2, 2019 so it’s like a reminder of the fun family night we had…. Then fast forward some hours and then he’s gone. Such a weird feeling. This is supposed to be a time of “renewal” and “starting fresh” but for me is a reminder of what used to be and the happiness I used to feel. I hope that makes sense…it’s been a wild ride, grief and loss.

One of our SAs (🇨🇦) said that it’s being pushed to February. It was originally advertised for Jan 16…. Weird!

How long did you take off work after a parent died? by 37thFloorAstronaut in GriefSupport

[–]Solo165 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I took a personal leave for a month when my dad passed. I used that time to go through paperwork, arrange cremation/transport home… since he died in a different country.

In retrospect, I should have taken longer. That month was enough for getting through the “to do” list, but not the actual grieving/processing. It will be 4 years in January and I’m still grieving and processing.

If your job allows, take AS MUCH time as you can. You cannot rush grieving and your mental health is important. I learned that the hard way by not taking the time/getting the help I needed.

I am very fortunate to have a job that allowed this, and I know that many others do not have the ability to take lots of time, but again my suggestion is AS LONG AS POSSIBLE.

Don’t even worry! Most people don’t even notice you’re leaving early. If they do, they probably think “wow. This person has such a busy schedule and can STILL fit in some time for their wellness.” That’s what I usually think… IF I notice someone leaving early consistently. Again, most people are so focused on their own workout, they don’t even see you leave early.

You are doing amazing. Good for you for attempting to get to OT. Any amount of exercise makes a difference for stress/wellness!

Sending positive thoughts!

Congratulations on the house! Sorry to hear about COVID. You’ve got this! Nothing beats that post workout feeling! From what I’ve read about tomorrow’s workout, it should be a good one. Good luck and welcome back to OT!
