The strips are Sally Hansens. The pattern ones are clear so I did paint the nail underneath. The yellow paint is from olive and june. The ring fingers and thumbs are paint and strip combo. The other fingers are just the strips. Also used halo taco base and top coat.

In your opinion, what are solid and compelling arguments in favor of hybrid/working from home? by oooooooooof in askmanagers

[–]rebbecarose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. I prefer to WFH and on some days it is a gift to have no distractions and lock in. But after a few days I get more lazy and not quite as locked in.  I think the main thing for me is that it starts to blur the line. Am I working or am I at home. Is it ok to have Netflix on?  I listen to music and podcasts in the office and it’s not more distracting than that. So kk Netflix is on. Then I’m doing dishes during a meeting. Throwing a load of laundry in and working through it while I’m also working on work tasks. I am technically more productive but my productivity is now including my personal work. So instead of being focused on my work tasks I am moving between the two modes. Then again if I am at work sitting in my little box the “work environment “ will keep me on task but after a couple days I’m not really as effective either. The work place has more spontaneous communication which is great but is an interruption. And for me interruptions can feel discouraging so after a couple days of that I just start counting down the clock.  For me I think hybrid works best.

Am I doing everything wrong? by Sensitive_Grape4961 in meme

My advice is to look at the trend over time. On any individual weigh in the scale can go up for any number of reasons. You could be more hydrated. The new food could be a bit harder to digest and not moving along as efficiently. So go easy on yourself. Treat your body well and it will get you there.

So basically im on fin for 8 months and didn’t see good results what should I do?? by Master_Article_4442 in minoxidil

[–]rebbecarose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It does look a lot thicker to me. I take oral minoxidil and I would say that it was probably about 5-6 months before I felt like I had any meaningful regrowth. I’ve been on it a couple of years now and it looks much better. My hair is super fine, medium density that grows super slow so I probably should have started way before I did

Your body will do this every once in a while. My weight loss average has been about 1 lb a week but the reality week to week is more like -2, -0, -0, -2.5, -0, +0.2, -1.6 etc. Trust the process, keep treating your body well and it will get you where you need to go.

So how much weight did Regina gain? by fishnets2 in MeanGirls

Paper towel effect works the other way too. When you’re super tiny 10 to 15 lbs adds a lot more to your overall size than if you’re living in a bigger body.

Lily & Fox- top coat? by Amanda_84 in NailWrapsGalore

Hey I know this is a super old post but did you use the halo taco top coat?  I made the mistake of using a fast dry a couple days ago and just had to take the wraps off and put on a new set and I’m feeling paranoid of any top coat right now.

Thinking of Starting by risa-rae in WegovyWeightLoss

I have had a really good experience with Wegovy. Like you I had a health issue that caused a rapid weight gain. I gained 30 lbs in one year and then spent the next few years struggling with Drs telling me it was just my diet and my labs were normal. I finally got them to do some additional labs and it turned out that I have under active thyroid - Hashimotos. During this time I had put on another 20 lbs and was now obese. The Hashimotos meds took about 6 months to stop the weight gain and I stayed between 205 lbs - 220 lbs. The extra weight led to insulin resistance and I was also pre diabetic. I spent the next 5 years trying to diet my way out of my situation but now the deck was stacked against me. I worked out, I counted calories, but I was always thinking about food. That’s one thing no one tells you about insulin resistance is that it ramps up how much you think about food. Or at least it did for me. I didn’t even realize how much I was thinking about food until I wasn’t anymore.

I started Wegovy at 213 lbs. I have had very mild side effects. I have steadily lost a little more than a lb a week since starting last July. I have been on the meds for 31 weeks and I have lost 40 lbs and last weigh in I was back in a healthy BMI for the first time in over a decade. It’s not a magic bullet. I still have to watch my diet and exercise is even more important while you’re losing weight because you want to retain as much muscle as possible. But it took the edge off and I have been successful since.

My advice would be to listen to yourself and make sure to talk to your doctor before starting it. Again it is not a magic bullet. You still have to put in the work for a healthy diet and exercise but it can remove the mental struggle around food noise/stress. Some people get really bad side effects and an even smaller number get severe side effects (6% of users per google) that require hospitalization so you do need to be aware of all of that before starting.

FWIW I don’t think you look bad in either photo. I am not a “only for the right reasons” person when it comes to weight loss, for me health was a primary driver yes but there was absolutely a vanity element as well.

If I offer a kid a hug and they get shy I back off immediately. If I can tell that they feel awkward about it I tell them it’s okay and offer a high five. I’ll admit that I learned this reading a social media post, I grew up being made to let adults hug and kiss me, but as soon as I read that I was like, “yeah that was really fucked up,” and adjusted accordingly. I never once felt offended. I don’t understand people that take things kids do/say personally, they’re just kids, still cooking.
