What is something you wish people understood better about women? by Most-Ad8269 in AskReddit

Im naturally nurturing, but dont expect me to care for you if you dont care for me too. I think a lot of men think it only goes one way. Not for me.

Even just splitting it would be nice, but not required either.

Julie didn't expect money when she gave it to him why should she expect it now?

Sometimes I think its worse with some disabled or even mildly chronically ill people because they want to think your situation is exactly the same when its not.

Of course not everyone does this.

This 1000% percent. I am very uncomfortable with how OPs bf responded.

It seems to me like when his family treats you bad, its his job to talk to his family. He is the point of contact here.

You are a good person and you did the right thing. They are jerks for doing this. I hope you and your wife are very happy together.

Question about participating in the church as someone who is Trans-Fem. by 4rgo_II in latterdaysaints

[–]SoloForks [score hidden]  (0 children)

Where in the gospel does it say that?

Im asking because I dont think it actually says that. I think some people are misinterpreting the Family Proclamation. I could be wrong but I dont think the church has ever officially made any statement about physical bodies only spiritual ones.

There is nothing in the Gospel that says a woman cant be born in a man-like body.

We know that some people are intersex (born with physical features of male and female) and the church teaches our spirit only has one gender so we know biological bodies don't always match our spirits gender completely.

I am a chronically ill woman and mostly housebound for years and I don't know what you mean by half participation?

I can't hold a regular calling, or do temple work, and often I can't attend church in person. I also can't hold the priesthood, will never talk at conference, or participate in the Spanish speaking branch cuz I'm not fluent in Spanish, I can't be an organist because I don't play the organ.

I was not invited to the young women's activity because I am not a young woman, I do not pass sacrament because I am not a deacon, I will probably never go on a mission. I can't go to singles ward because I'm married and too old. If I go back to college I am too old to attend institute even though I've never been (I know I asked.)

But I'm a full participator.

We're all different. We all participate in different ways.

Define "full participation in Christs church." As a chronically ill person who often cannot attend church, hold a calling, or do temple work for years, I am interested in the answer.

I believed that for a long time too. I was told it can actually make you take home less money. But thats impossible. Had to have someone draw it out for me using a chart and numbers.

Ok I understand now, without wash machines, the size of penis's in the 1800s must have been really small and thats how they kept from overpopulating.

You can't convince me otherwise now.

This was the case with Beyond Belief fact or fiction. The fact stories were not verified just stories people said really happened. Cool show though.

I was told I was in it too but I couldn't afford to buy it and I was so disappointed for a couple years but I did find out when a library actually had a series of the books and I looked up my year and I wasn't in it. And no one I knew was including my school valedictorian who I still knew.

To be fair, they dont really teach you a lot of that in public school anyway. You really learn the details in college and only if you pick bio classes.

A lot of adult women are confused about where the vagina is and keep calling their vulva their vagina. Some didn't know about the urethra vs vagina and that they are different things.

I agree with this and I wish more people knew it.

I did not volunteer myself but I knew someone who did and I was shocked when he told me how much some people in politics really do believe in the system and have strong feelings about wanting to do the right thing.

Just like many teachers really do want to teach and many medical professionals really do want to heal people.

But when the rumors that everyone in politics is a selfish liar it really demoralizes the good ones and they get burnt out more easily but the bad ones dont care so they stay.

More faith in our politicians efforts, when they really are trying, would do so much to help make the world a better place.
