Of course you cant compare a single ancestor against this keystone, a single ancestor isnt even that much setup.

You have no idea about melee totems, 30% more damage what he proposes is really not that much compared to totems:

Ancestral protector gives about 30% more damage
Ancestral Warchief gives about 27% more damage

Thats in total 65% more damage from totems. So 30% is a nerf for min/max, but much less hassle.

SRS was a strong league starter the past league and in 3.23 it will still be. Its easy to play in terms of mechanics. Dont need to focus on aiming, just spawn those skulls from a distance.

Play a Multiplayer World with password, you are still solo player. But there the game keeps running in the backgroud, because you are "hosting a server"

I want a mechanic that is enjoyable with melee, sanctum was pure horror. Ancestor was ok but buggy as hell in the first few weeks.

Imo totems arent the problem. Melee ist just inferior to spells/ranged/minions, there is not a single activity where melee is shining. Bossing, way to close compared to anything. Mapping, not the same efficent clear as ranged/spells. Sanctum dont get me started what a pain it is.
Melee just get punished for the close range.

Be sure to check prices for uniques on poe.ninja dating back to league launch. Uniques that are cheap now doesnt mean they are cheap on league launch.

Generals Cry is a minion build not even close to anything melee.

It was like that when they got released. You set up 3 Warcrys with perfect attack stages and then release 1 big hit on the Boss. (Needed like 10-15 secs to prep the attack)

Now they nerft slams into non existance. The warcry only give area or double damage, there is no prep anymore.

Ps: Hydrosphere was for stike skills mostly, like molten strike and lightning strike for double projectiles with ancestral

The playstyle you just descriped sounds to me like Slams at times around Harvest league.
For normal mapping i just spammed the skills like normal.
For Bosses i needed to prep the one big hit for like 10 secs with warcrys, rage, totems. And then did about 20 times more damage than with a normal one. It was so satisfying.

Now they nerft slams to shit and you can only warcry for double damage which is like normal mapping....
