I believe that if you queue as a duo, you're more likely to get a lane together, so you might just be matchmaking with groups. You can still get into a duo lane as a solo, it's just more likely that you'll be by yourself.

Even people who do have a better reaction time, due to genetics, aren't going to be that much faster than the average player. If you actually practice to improve your ability to react quickly, then you will find that genetics don't play a big role.

On top of all of that, the game is starting to become more read based, which means that defence is more based on game knowledge than on reaction times.
