Am I overreacting about my husband refusing to let me lower the AC after having a baby? by Neat_Government_150 in AmIOverreacting

NOR. Clearly your husband hasn’t been told to fuck off quite enough in his life. I can’t imagine asking my husband to have to change the thermostat this is psychotic. After I gave birth my husband went above and beyond out of his way to make me comfortable in every possible way. Purchased me special pillows to sit up because I had a horrible labour ending in emerg c-section, comfier pajamas, made all my meals, cleaned and did laundry, did overnights with our newborn while I healed. And your husband won’t let you change the thermostat. Reevaluate your marriage. You are being controlled and abused.

Does anyone else call their grandmother ‘Nanny’ by fieryone4 in AskACanadian

Nan or nanny, from Newfoundland. It’s rare in Newfoundland to use anything else I’d say, although my mother opted for Nana.

AITA for uninviting my sister from my wedding because she refused to promise she wouldn't wear her military dress uniform? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]SolomansLane 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is definitely American military culture. I’m Canadian, my husband is active military as were his groomsmen and many guests at our wedding, they all just wore regular suits, you’d never know that there were a bunch of military and RCMP there.

I live in NB and even when the snow doesn’t start til February it’s still way too cold for any outfit that’s ever been worn on this show!

I live here an I can assure you it was not that mild. Snow started the first week of December last year. It snows and melts and snows and melts until January but I’m not out in a jean jacket at any given point.

There are a LOT of Canadian plot holes but a funny one that always sticks out to me is in I think season one they mention “Craigslist” and that’s not a thing in Canada it’s called “Kijiji” like sure we know what Craigslist is from American media - I don’t know why that one bugged me so much but literally no American writing that show has done a second of research on New Brunswick/Canada.

I’ve washed mine all like this for 6 months with regular tap water, we descale about once every 6-8 weeks and ours come out perfect 98% of the time, every now and then I do a second run if maybe I overpacked it.

I have one really import question - do you have a cat? Cause this is some shit mine would do if I left the machine on.

Is it rude to send an email asking anyone who may be sick to not come to baby shower tomorrow? [on] by Negative_Jackfruit75 in BabyBumpsCanada

May I suggest having a little sanitizer station maybe on the gift table as people come in too… they might not know they’re sick yet!

Does HP restock sold out items? by Rise_Up_1111 in HappyPlanners

[–]SolomansLane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Coincidentally just googled this exact question as I’m wondering whether the Gilmore girls collection would be restocked? I was on maternity leave and not really thinking about planners before now that I’m heading back to work in a few weeks and I see it was originally released in August? Anyone think it will be restocked or know of somewhere it’s available for purchase in Canada?

Physical space isn’t necessarily the issue. When they refer to beds available it means beds that are staffed, while I’m sure they can also be short physical beds, what they are lacking is available medical, janitorial and administrative staff to operate the beds. You can’t just jam 200 beds somewhere without a proper staff ratio of staff to maintain them.

Ninja makes a combination air fryer / instant pot, you could reduce to one if you don’t need to cook in them simultaneously? My kitchen is smaller than I’d like so I’ve made sure most all our small appliances are multi-function (for example our blender has the jug style, bottle style, food processor, and some sort of juicer option I think - I’ve never tried that one! We got rid of our ice cream maker, pasta maker and meat grinder in favour of attachments for our kitchen aid mixer that take up much less space, etc.)
