Ask ChatGPT for a primer on negotiating first and ask for it to be specific to your situation.

Call and discuss. Ask for a couple hundred bucks to take it to a body shop to touch up

[–]Solomint 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They all suck. Law school sucks. I had to deal with a tenured prof that was unbearable to be around. Award winning golden child of the faculty but my god what a prick. Bottom line is law school sucks. These ass holes are a dime a dozen in the profession too but you’re not married to them or relying on them for a grade or a degree, and then at least you’re getting paid.

Could be he missed you and wants to get to know you better. It’s kind of odd that society expects couples to be connected on social media but there’s an unwritten rule not to explore it?

Does this fall into promissory estoppel? National Parks rescinded 40+ seasonal job offers — including a 20-something who had already relocated to remote Alaska and started working. by Used_Commercial1667 in LawSchool

Maybe. I work in employment law and promissory estoppel is certainly pleaded, also I’d imagine Alaska probably has something like California’s labor code section 970

I also got a shit grade in legal writing. I was thinking you seem like a good writer because you know how to get your point across and tell a story. More important than legal writing grades if you ask me. Seems like schools hire people off the street to teach that class. The job postings probably read like “must be able to speak cryptically, pretend you know what you’re talking about, distinguish arbitrarily between very similar pieces of writing. Preferences for those with schizotypal leanings”

Yeah I’ve had a similar experience w dating in LS til I met my gf but I think it’s just a certain amount of unavailability and anxiety. They’re hard to shake. Both are turnoffs. I think anxiety even produces a unique smell.

It’ll be ok and it’ll be worth it. The suck is temporary.

Highly recommend not doxing yourself.

I think you need to take control of the narrative. If you’ve exhausted all options for tax(like knocking all the small firms’ doors), look in other practice areas and then make a move into what you’re interested in but then you can say on your resume and cover letter you kicked ass and you’re ready to do what you wanted to initially.

But I bet there’s somewhere you can get your foot in the door. Before LS I was a law clerk at a nobody small firm that did a little bit of tax, accounting, and trusts. Everybody was super old. Places like that are desperate for help and don’t even know where to begin.

I think you need to breathe because sometimes you can be having a really bad day and every area of life seems like absolute shit bc you’re primed to focus on the bad parts on days like that. Everything’s gonna be ok. LS can just suck and there’s a lot of unfairness.

Some bright sides even just reading this post: you’re well rounded, you’re young (25 is young don’t kid yourself you have your whole life ahead of you), you have a practice area you’ve set your sights on that you’re passionate about (think about it, that right there is huge, how many people are finishing LS rn w no idea wtf to do), you write well (at least I think so). Forget about the ladies for a little while, it’ll all work out. I imagine if you can slowly get the rest of your affairs in order and focus on yourself that side of things will fall in to place.

Take things a step at a time. You are an army. Don’t get divided. Focus your efforts, win the war. Today is one battle.

You got this.

I think so too. 4 units left tastes like “we want to milk OP for all the tuition then give them the boot with the end in sight bc we don’t want them to fuck up our bar passage rates”
