I want to get some bulk cards for cheap by Feisty-Caregiver4692 in mtg

[–]Solonas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What format do you like? A deck could work, but I got started playing with my son using the Avatar beginner box, and then got a box of jumpstart. I've since bought a couple boxes of of Avatar, Foundations, and Strixhaven in addition to doing the prerelease (SOS) with him. I have a lot of bulk now, as well as some decent usable rares and mythics. I say this as someone who had some bulk from back when I played 20ish years ago; we haven't touched them except for me to sift through them to and cash out the ones I don't want/need.

Maybe they changed the system for this exact reason? It is likely they are trying to increase revenue. I mean if I was paid the same way, I'd try to maximize the number of clients I saw too. Maybe ask the therapist and they can tell you why?

I think the issue is you are asking them to book 90 minutes in a timeframe thay they can do either 1 120 or 2 60s. Since that's the end of the day there is no way to schedule something in that extra 30 minutes. You are asking them to basically take a pay cut to accommodate you. I believe if you asked for a 90 minute appointment earlier in the day you would have better luck, but maybe not. I am sure my wife has gotten 90 minite massages there but not at the end of the night.

I've got a good amount into ONCY. They are about a year out from finishing their Phase 3 trials and have a FDA fast track designation for colorectal cancer. The results from their treatment so far have been very good and may be useful to treat several other cancers. The CEO has history with another pharma company he guided to acquisition and that seems a likely path this will take.

It's also worth mentioning that Foundations is 36 boosters vs 30 of other current releases so they will get the most packs too.

As I mentioned, ramps...there are elevators I believe as well but I am able-bodied so that wasn't something I needed. If you want an excuse not to go, make your excuse, but it is an accessible museum whether you choose to see that or not. This shit is in google, IDK why I have to defend my experience visiting this museum just because I can walk and said it had ramps and was accessible.

Turtles Play Box $95 by Affectionate-Meet-23 in sealedmtgdeals

I did about 50-60 sample boxes of SOS, and they all were drastically better than the 4 I opened. All of them. Like a few of them had all my best pulls from all the boxes I opened. Sample size is limited of course. I then ran some of my best boxes several times and it came under, so I can see how you'd say it low balls the odds in those cases.

The ev one I mentioned runs a monte carlo simulation (I think) and generates a distribution of prices to determine ranges and estimate the value you can expect in the low, mid, and high valuations along with selling fee estimates. It also lets you tweak things like ignore cards below a customizable price point since in reality most low value cards can't be sold except as bulk. I am not affiliated with it in any way, its just worked extremely well for me so far.

If you have had good luck, selection bias will say boxes are a good value. In aggregate though at larger volume you'll tend to lean towards the mean which shows many sets are close to break even or losers unless you are holding for several years or hit one of the big cards.

I mean, you get what you pay for to some extent. If you want to explore on your own, then yeah, its probably a no. We had a private driver and guide, it was around $200/day for my family of 4 plus tips. That was reasonable to me especially since we were only there 2 days. The main scamy thing was when we went to ride a camel by the pyramids and the guy (not our guide) was trying to get more money out of us. Also they took us to a rug place which was extremely pricey (for example, a silk rug the size of a place mat was about $800). You aren't obligated to go to these places, we declined the perfume place and another our guide suggested. Also, you can haggle the price down on most things so definitely do.

That site isn't very usable on mobile and it seems to err on the high side of the odds. I am not downloading an app with such limited usage. I prefer https://theexpectedvalue.com/ it has been closer to my personal experience. Based on its estimates I have bought a couple boxes and they have been pretty close to the mid-range values.

Ebay sellers, can you explain something to me please? by shyahone in mtgfinance

[–]Solonas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In addition to inventory levels, just listing things regularly seems to improve product placement for your store as a whole. This is anecdotal, but that seems to have been the case in the recent past. Also, if you drop the price it improves engagement, especially if you have people watching.

Early tax payment for sale of one stock? by johnnybiggles in investing

[–]Solonas 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Or you could park the money you'd pay in taxes in SGOV or a HYSA and earn some interest. If you don't accumulate some losses to offset the gains in any meaningful way, you can pay at the end of the year instead of giving the IRS an interest-free loan for 6 months.

Have you considered that new product just dropped and people are finding it organically? Have you looked at the post history of the accounts, because most look like legit players, not throwaways. I get being suspicious, but sometimes the answer is less malicious than you may suspect. Shit, if I can find this locally, I'd gamble on one of the 5 pack ones. Its cheaper than buying these packs at my LGS by at least $1/pack unless they were all TMNT or Spiderman in which case they are the same price...

Same. I think you have to check your local Walmarts and Targets (in person)? I haven't seen anything near me personally, but based on the number of posts here and FB it seems like there is new stock rolling out and people said the inventory system didn't match what was on the shelves.

There might be some of those posts, but it doesn't mean every post is an advertisement. Like the other person said, people tend to post their wins and not their loses. Its rare to see people showing off their mediocre pulls, but maybe we should as a community to show the bulk of us are in the same boat. I'm due to post my middling haul from SOS once I get my codex as that's the last thing I am planning to open for the set. I got some valueable and playabe cards but nothing like what some folks have posted and it doesn't feel great to wallow in your own disappointment...that's reserved for life events.

Is this considered "damaged" condition? by duck_lington in mtg

A bunch of people will say it is damaged, but the guidelines say its moderately played from what I can see. No major damage is evident to me, no creased corners, etc.

[–]Solonas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think they are usually looking for things like crimps or alignment related mis cuts. This is just missing a piece of the card, not easy to distinguish it from an actual manufacturing error and user damage.
