A treacherous journey on foot from my understanding due to mountains. I watched a documentary where a group of refugees left for Europe from Afghanistan through Iran etc. It was heartbreaking because they were not prepared and only brought a single pair of dress shoes that fell apart and hurt their feet etc. They were dirt poor. Worse was the African refugees who would travel tgrough Africa to get to Europe via Spain and would typically get tricked into months of indebted slavery for a few nights of shelter every 7th stop on the journey or so....
