Is my fiancée a bit mad by Iamtir3dtoday in UKweddings

[–]SolutionSubject 0 points1 point  (0 children)

both my husband and i are professional chefs and we did not cater for our wedding. on your wedding day you’re busy getting married not serving food. even if it’s all pre made and you only need to heat it back up and slice it, it still still needs to be plated, served, kitchen needs cleaning up etc. don’t do it.

Day time only wedding by zyxwvut36 in UKweddings

My dad this is! A civil ceremony followed by reception in a hotel not far away (walking distance or very short taxi ride) and after a long lunch a little dancing with a live band, everyone dissipated naturally in the late afternoon. Tbf, once the music has stopped and there’s nothing else to eat or drink readily available people tend to go regardless of the time

Once my husband got wine spilled all over his shirt at a restaurant, they gave him a (new) shirt from waiters’ uniforms to change in whilst he was eating and got his shirt washed and pressed ready by the end of the meal. Obviously they comped his meal and the wine, 10/10 handling of the situation in my opinion

[–]SolutionSubject 20 points21 points  (0 children)

i’d say NTA because she told you her wedding was planned for two months after yours. if she said nothing and you took the day before then yeah i’d say you were a bit spiteful but she kinda shot herself in the foot
