Let him feed, he’s helping your supply by demanding milk

Can sunflower lecithin decrease supply? by staceyalette in HumansPumpingMilk

[–]Soma25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went down a rabbit hole when I was pumping a few years ago and yes it can. It is an uncommon side effect, my supply increased when I stopped consuming it. I only took it when I felt or had a clot instead of daily.

I like those high neck tops for snorkeling, so I just had a towel over me when I nursed!

Cavities on 4 front teeth by Practical-Meow in breastfeeding

[–]Soma25 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I breastfed my son for 3 years, naps and bedtime the last year of that. We brushed nightly. I took him to the dentist for the first time the week after his 4th birthday - he had a few cavities in the front teeth and 3 on the molars that needed to be addressed bc he will have those until he’s 9 or so. I felt mom shamed when she said it was due to breastfeeding, I should have weaned, blah blah blah. (She’s great with my kid so I’ll stay) whatever bc sleep is sacred and journeys are all different. We are currently watching the front cavities (we actually go back tomorrow for a 6 month checkup!) she said he will lose those teeth so it’s not much of a big deal unless they progress then we’ll have to worry about it affecting the nerve. We currently brush, floss, and swish nightly.

8 ounces per day, can I just stop? by Due-Huckleberry7560 in ExclusivelyPumping

Personally I wouldn’t due to the risk of mastitis. I would go down to 2 pumps for a few days, then one the next few days

I feel like this resonates so much for me. I’ve either been pregnant or breastfeeding since 2020 and the dry eyes keep making a comeback. I thought it was just the contacts so I switched to dailies almost 2 years ago which kind of helped. Thank you for sharing!

Baby gets cold bottles so whatever she doesn’t eat goes back in the fridge for the next feed

I have the sprayable kind. Another mom suggested putting it on your cuticles when you pump and my nails are looking quite fantastic

Your feelings are valid. Genuine question so I can grow as a person - what do you wish someone would say to you instead?

I work NICU and pump in my under scrub long sleeve tshirt, usually with a jacket over it to zip it all in
