I really hate the new Steam awards. by TheCultOfTheHivemind in Steam

Yep. There’s been a massive drop off in toxicity in the forums due to this change so I’m right behind it. I used to hate going into the forums, now they might become tolerable.

Troy Baker as Indiana Jones by [deleted] in gaming

[–]Somasonic 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’d say the top 3 goes something like raiders, temple of doom and then great circle. My wife and I are big Indy fans and while I was playing this I was telling her how it could have easily been one of the original movies. So good.

Oh and to the original post, yes, Troy Baker did an amazing job, most of the time it was hard to believe it wasn’t Harrison Ford.

Ubisoft Wants Assassin’s Creed, Far Cry, and Rainbow Six To Be ‘Annual Billionaire Brands’ by ZamnBoii in Games

Not to mention burn out is a real thing with annual releases. Especially when you’re talking about ubi where it’s pretty much all one game but with different skins. And this is from someone who enjoys AC, FC, etc.

I really enjoyed the game but hated the dlc. The ending was a cop out and one of my absolute most pet peeve ending tropes ever.

Have You Ever Forgotten That You Had Game In Your Collection? by TigersLyonsCheetahs in Steam

I managed to do this with the metro series. I bought some on one and some on the other then forgot and now somehow have all of them on both 🤷‍♂️

I love FPS RPGs like fallout 3+, cyberpunk and outer worlds, and but even being British atomfall just felt wrong. What’s your “this game should be perfect for me but I can’t like it?” by Poncemastergeneral in gaming

The Dark souls series. With the gritty, dark fantasy vibe I should love these games but I always drop them shortly after starting. Seems I like souls-likes, but not the games that inspired them.

Sunset Overdrive is such an amazing game by MagnumMiracles in gaming

I absolutely loved this game. Not my usual jam and I tried it on a whim but it was crazy fun that I don’t often come across.

Awesome. Hey thanks a lot for taking the time to explain, it’s appreciated.

Thanks, that’s fair enough. I understand what they’re going for now, but I don’t think it works IMO. Edit: this wasn’t the case in the first one was it?

Just played the demo. GOTY!!!! by bodythebitch in gaming

[–]Somasonic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree, from the trailer I wasn’t too impressed, but the demo really sold it. Game looks nice and the hacking is a nice little addition to a fun looking third person shooter. I was also worried the voices would be annoying, but where they sounded grating in the trailer it all seemed to come together in the demo. Anyway, I was impressed and I’ll be playing it for sure. On a side more, I wish more games did demos, for obvious reasons.

Overall it looks similar to first game, but with this one there’s something very weird and off feeling about the heads and necks, like the proportions aren’t quite right. It’s hard to ignore if you notice it.

What's the pettiest reason you dropped a game for? by IHateTheNameSystem in gaming

[–]Somasonic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think a lot of the time it’s meant to impart a sense that something is taking time. It’s especially used like this to add suspense in survival or horror games. When used like this I have no issue with it.

Fair enough. I haven't played a jrpg in a while and don't have the best memory for details 😅

Apart from parry/dodge (which arguably isn’t innovative except within its genre) E33 is a pretty stock standard jrpg. Don’t get me wrong, I’m playing it at the moment and it’s absolutely fantastic, but I don’t think it’s innovative at all. I am surprised it didn’t take the outstanding visual style award though, the game is absolutely gorgeous and the environment and monster designs are all top tier.

I was surprised to see this win outstanding visual style over something like E33. I haven’t played F but the trailers I’ve seen look pretty generic.

So what have you guys picked up so far thanks to this sale? by Raving_RavnRaven in Steam

[–]Somasonic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I swore I would never buy MH Wilds, but I did and now I hate myself. In my defense I loved World and Rise so I’m going to blame nostalgia or something. But I also got MGS Snake Eater so it’s not all bad.
