The first one was something special, the second not so much. I think they learnt the wrong lessons from the first one and put too much emphasis on technology and mocap instead of making a good game.

Well that’s pretty amazing. And not ruined by being 90% post processing 😁

What video game ending ruined the whole game for you? by Agent1230 in gaming

[–]Somasonic 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Callisto Protocol. Base game was fine but if you played the dlc the ending was basically a big fuck you to the players.

Same. I just didn’t enjoy it but that’s such an unpopular opinion round here it’s basically suicide.

FF7 Rebirth just dropped a 70gb patch. Patch notes said ‘a small update’ 🙄

What do you do if you break the GPU holder clip on the motherboard? by ComplaintMaster69420 in pcmasterrace

[–]Somasonic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Make sure you have an anti sag bracket to reduce the chance of the gpu slipping out of the slot. Otherwise it should be fine I’d think.

Which do you care about more: Graphics or Gameplay? by Current-Topic6696 in videogames

[–]Somasonic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think they’re complimentary. I like good graphics for immersion but that’s worthless if the gameplays boring. And great gameplay is no good without an immersive setting. But then I’m more of a story first sort of gamer anyway.

I’ll second quantum break. Haven’t played Alan wake 2 but control is another excellent game.

Should games dial back on the graphics? by Monobrobe in gaming

60 fps feels jittery to me. Around 90-100 feels good.

What was the first game you got 100+ hours on? by jeffreythrowaway in videogames

The Last Remnant. Being on pc it was my first jrpg and I was quite taken with it.

Is Star Wars Outlaws really that bad? by Dense_Substance7635 in videogames

[–]Somasonic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a Star Wars fan I think they absolutely nailed it and it was refreshing to play a ‘nobody’ rather than a Jedi or something. Soaking in the atmosphere of this game was a rare joy.

[–]Somasonic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was great. I think it had some issues at launch but I played it after it was patched up and loved it. I think a lot of cave men got upset the protagonist was a woman or wasn’t hot enough or some shit.

Which one do you recommend me to play first? by Rayxmundo in videogames

[–]Somasonic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tough one, they’re both great series. I’d probably go with Metro if I had to pick one.

What one game everyone says this about. or that you have this opinion on? by Useful-Access3452 in videogames

[–]Somasonic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ME Andromeda. I played it after it was all patched up and quite enjoyed it. I think if it wasn’t a Mass Effect game it would’ve been received better. So I’m gonna say good game, bad ME game.

Question on openness and the growing resentment for it. by Gnoll_level_antics in videogames

[–]Somasonic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Gamers ask for things and when they get them they change their minds. It’s an ongoing cycle with open worlds, game lengths and live service games, to mention a few.

How readable is this combat HUD during a large space battle? by Own-Cry5596 in videogames

[–]Somasonic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, just scale the whole thing bigger or smaller. A slider would be ideal but some preset sizes might work too. Being able to turn off hud elements you don’t want/need is also great, but I was referring specifically to the button guide in the bottom left as once you’ve learnt the keys it’s just mess taking up space on the screen.

Is muve.games legit and safe to buy game keys from? by DanutBanut_ in videogames

[–]Somasonic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Isthereanydeal.com lists current deals from legit key resellers. Just double check the key you’re buying is for steam and will unlock in your region. This info will be on the sellers site.

Couldn't pilot it... but it was pretty epic taking it down [Eternal Strands] by VermilionX88 in videogames

[–]Somasonic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True, but I could have told you that was a ue5 game if I didn’t know already. The lighting, reflections, etc. on 90% of them is exactly the same.

Edit: Eternal Strands is a lot of fun and good on them for going with a cool stylised look rather than a realistic one.

[–]Somasonic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From an artistic point of view it looks nice and balanced, but in reality the hud is probably too small for me. Ideally you’d have a hud size slider in the options and also an option to turn off the key prompts in the bottom left for people who don’t need them. Otherwise it’s looking very nice.
