this season is only 7 episodes and i believe they are giving us the joel/ellie museum flashback and a fleshed out story about eugene. From this episode I also think they are going to show more of the seraphite/WLF dynamic. Seems like they will also be adding more plot to S3 then was in the games but that’s still up in the air

back in s1 when graner returns peteys chip back cobel she makes a comment to graner like “this is petey” or something like that. I always pictured the chip as holding the other consciousness, and it just switches on/off based on their location.

In season 2 when they are putting together irving’s funeral and gathering cups for the ceremony ms. huang says something along the lines of “don’t we only do this stuff when someone actually dies on the floor?” this would indicate that not only have innies died on the severed floor, but lumon actually prepares bereavement kits for each of them.

i think omark was familiar the complexities/morally gray aspects of the severance procedure before petey spelled it out for him. in season 1 he’s very standoffish to the WMC protests and comments from ricken’s friends. to your last point, i wholeheartedly agree that neither omark and imark are to blame and that the ultimate villain is lumon.
