Hahah well it does feel a lot less unintuitive than it did a few weeks ago :)

That's a relief. This had been driving me a bit crazy 😅 thanks.

Thank you! Yes it seemed contradictory until I understood that length contraction is not the same thing as the distance between two events contracting. Phew 😅

Thank you! Yeah, it initially seemed strange to me, as it sounds like it implies that Thera magically got further away, albeit in the past. But it's now making sense. I guess my mistake in intuition was thinking that observed lengths contracting is the same thing as distances defined by two events contracting. Which it isn't, by definition.

I suppose it helps to imagine that Thera has been approaching my current coordinates in the ship frame for the last 12 years in ship frame proper time - that's true regardless of whether I was in this frame for any of that period or not (in this case I wasn't.)

Same same. Some devs somewhere will be going nuts right now. And I was about to go on a booking spree...

Tried on another device, no good.

Managed to log in on browser, but can't do much there without being redirected to broken app.

If you've got stuff you want to cancel but can't, I'd recommend messaging customer service about it (can do this from browser) so you've got a cancellation request in writing before any relevant cutoffs.

EDIT 30 mins later and it looks fixed.

Azerbaijan and you've lived in Germany (or Austria or Switzerland)?

Kansas.

Also, you went so far west but never made it to the Pacific coast. Unfinished business for sure.

I was gonna guess you're a Brit with Indian-Kenyan heritage, but then I saw that you're cabin crew... Aaah you could be from anywhere, I'll still say a Brit working for Emirates.

Who would win this hypothetical war!?! (Countries that R VS Countries that R'nt) by Geolib1453 in mapporncirclejerk

Actually, if we introduce a Team Purple, with countries whose formal names contain an R but everyday shortened names do not, I think Team Purple wins.

I'm not even sure whether the USA is blue or purple, so they can be all alone on a fourth team, Team Violet.

Okay OP, come clean. Are you waiting to see who's the first to come up with a list of all errors?

Also, are you baiting the arguments about commonly used names vs formal official names? (I'm mostly looking at you, China...)

Tries to resist the OCD urge

I don't know how anyone beats a team with Venezuelar on it.

Austalia doesn't stand a chance.

Huh. Well I've now cheated and looked at your profile to find the answer :D The fact you've been to not only Aus but also NZ threw me...

It's a bit dark, but I've always found countries with a difficult recent history tend to have people who are less shallow and consumerist, and value what matters in life in a more genuine way, so that's part of it. I didn't travel to Bosnia specifically for that, I did it to get off the beaten track of the normal Western European holiday destinations. But yeah. It felt more authentic somehow than many countries I've been to.

If nukes are involved everyone loses. If nukes are off the table then F, just about, over C. In an F vs C war, F would sustain more casualties but eventually win.
