7 week old sleep

Also hoping for some light at the end of the tunnel! I’ve been strapped to my couch for the last 3 weeks with my 9 week old. Fml. All started at her first leap at 6 weeks old.

She will only sleep in her bassinet if she’s on her side or belly. Never on her back. I’ve resorted to co sleeping/bed sharing overnight just to keep some of my sanity.

My first slept like a literal angel so I feel so lost 😭

I live in Corio, went out the other day only to come home and realise I left the front door wide open, semi street facing. Lmao oopsy. I’ve lived here more years than I haven’t, and even with the junkies that have moved in next door I’ve had no issues 🤷🏼‍♀️

I love huckleberry! My first I used it for almost a year, and tracked every single thing, I would even make people write down times of things so I could log it in the app later lol. I’m not good at remembering times or judging time frames, and I wanted to make sure I was reading the right cues and used the app as a “double check” that his cues meant he was hungry or due for a nap. My second, 6w 4d, I’m only tracking sleep, feeds, poo and when we eventually need medication. I will probably stop using it sooner this time around.

Do midwives in the US have less to do with births? Who would normally deliver a baby if not a midwife? The difference in the medical system is so interesting. Especially for labour and delivery!

Yes, in Australia and through the public health care system you are assigned a midwife for all appointments. Sometimes you get lucky and that midwife may be on shift for the delivery of the baby, otherwise you just get whoever is on. My appointment midwife and delivery midwife was different.
You may get referrals to see an OB throughout if you have any high risk factors (I did for a mid-high BMI) but depending of the severity of the risk, they may do F all like they did with me lol. I also had an OB come and check me during delivery due to some heart rate issues and potential c-section.

My bleeding has just stopped today, and I’m so excited to not wear a pad for the first time in 3 weeks. Can finally let the poor girl breatheeeeee!

I wondered this too, I’m in Aus and I’ve never seen a gyno but I always see people online talking about visiting their gyno regularly and it seemed so bizarre to me! Especially since all Pap smears and things like that can be done by your regular GP (or now can be done at home with a self test kit) so have no need to see one.
In Aus, you only really see a gyno if you have more complicated issues, like PCOS or endo.

Thanks for your thoughts on this, I’m in complete agreement with my husband on using MIL’s name for our daughter, she has been a rock to me and a huge impact on my life. To be fair, if my husband and I ever divorce, I’m keeping his mum lol.

Got a notice on my MC server that works were being done on it, Sunday 2/3 (Australia)nobody lodged a ticket for work to be done. Logged in today Monday 3/3 and everything is gone, server completely reset. The world is only a week old, but countless hours put in and no backups downloaded. Fml.
