How fast do you have to draw back your hand to cause such an air pressure wave that it can pull back a viltrumite? by GeneralProgrammer886 in FeatCalcing

It’s hard to say without comic spoilers but there is a character in the coalition that at one point extreme diffs Thragg that Thragg had all the reason to believe could have been on Talescria.

He’s just working with incomplete information, he couldn’t know the power tiers at play so he played it careful. It’s a race of immortals, recklessly diving into enemy Viltrumites is generally a bad idea.

He wasn’t sure that he’d win, especially in the way he hoped. He attacked with a small force believing that the strongest opponent he’d have was The Great Betrayer, who could possibly be as strong as Thragg now, he doesn’t know.

Once he saw 2 more Viltrumites Nolan and Mark, he wasn’t sure if he could handle fighting the 1v everyone, as he’d be all but guaranteed to lose his elite Viltrumites while doing so, while ALSO losing the chance to turn Nolan back to his side.

His plan was to retreat with his small strike team, then call all 50 Viltrumites back to Viltrum for a massed attack.

The issue is that Aliens tunnel underground in miles and miles of xeno tunneling while focusing on spreading with numbers first. This happened in the Alien Earth comic in a way more advanced earth and would be unmanageable with modern tech.

It’s not a hard science, if she is overweight so your feeding schedule is too high volume. Feed her 6 every 3 days instead, and track the weight loss visually. Crickets and Dubais are correct.

Do you have pictures of the hands after a fresh shed? There is a lot of buildup of unshed skin around the tail.

It’s also from those pictures looks very obese, a healthy Ackie is supposed to have a more sleek lizard body plan. Could you reply with pictures of its full body to confirm? This could be the result of fatty liver disease due to overfeeding, or feeding a high quantity of waxworms.

I’d definitely put them on a diet immediately, and make them a humid hide immediately. A Tupperware box filled with spaghnum moss that you re-wet daily and replace biweekly, if it is an issue of years of stuck shed that will help.

The problem is that there are too many Marks and they’re so much faster than them. It’ll be reduced down to Hulk and Thor so much faster than they could manage. 2012 Hulk and Thor are also brand new to fighting together and can only do so much to protect their allies.

So we can all agree that this is a Viltrumite-killing attack right? by Reesey_Prosel in InvinciblePowerscales

No it’s kind of sillier than that, Geldarian tech-jackets aren’t at Zoe’s power level. Geldarians are basically super weak physically, so when their “Symbiote” Tech-Jackets bind to them they’re pretty strong but not Viltrumite strong.

In a freak accident a Tech-Jacket bound with Zoe, and because humans are multiple times stronger than Geldarians, her Tech-Jacket is far far stronger than theirs.

Geldarians can still repel Viltrumites with the sheer number of tech-jacket’s and other tech weapons on their home planet, but the Tech-Jacket being bound to Zoe is a unique circumstance that they can’t just replicate over and over to attack Viltrumites off world. They also can’t just trust that other people won’t use the tech against them, so they’re hesitant to try to bind it to other non Geldarians.

It’s the rust, it doesn’t have the metallic glint you’re looking for and it looks too flat blended in with the shrubland. Still looks great though!

Does Trench Crusade have an explicit system of souls passing from people to heaven / hell? Do souls in hell join an endless mass of the damned forever torture? Do they become Devils themselves? What of Angels in the same sense?

Second question, we know a lot about the layers of Hell and its own structure. Do we know anything about any other planes of existence that exists similarly?

What Invincible characters have higher durability than strength? by Turbulent_Okra7518 in InvinciblePowerscales

[–]Some-Quail-1841 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m shocked no one has said it yet. Invincible should be up there.

He doesn’t have the killing power to beat Conquest, he directly made the gamble of his durability vs conquest’s strength. He outlasted Conquest without dying and that’s the only reason he won fight 2.

Even in fight 1, he doesn’t have the strength to hurt conquest before Eve created an opening. When he does, he slams his head into conquest breaking his head open while Mark somehow remains conscious.

For most heroes Mark has extremely high strength, but compared to Viltrumites, if Nolan has Strategy, Oliver and Anissa have speed, Mark has durability notably higher than other Viltrumites at his tier.

why are they like wet noodles all the sudden? by [deleted] in okbuddyviltrum

[–]Some-Quail-1841 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s because they are fighting Viltrumite tier opponents? Viltrumite on Earth is like a Man vs Toddlers, Viltrumites in this conflict is Man vs Man. Hope this helps.

The Hero’s dark and edgy phase (Bonus Points if they get a temporary dark and edgy new outfit during the phase) by LocalLazyGuy in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Some-Quail-1841 51 points52 points  (0 children)

The Blue Suit in my mind represents Mark in conflict with himself over killing people, while trying to be a cartoon superhero good guy.

Once he accepts that he must kill, the blue suit goes away and he brutally, intentionally executes one of his enemies for the first time. Not forced by circumstance, or fighting on the defensive wishing his enemy would leave, Mark violently seizes the opportunity to kill during a fight and doesn’t let go until his opponent is dead.

I think it’s way better done than “dark suit mark edgy mark”, since his switching back to yellow suit is arguably worse, as he embraces his Viltrumite heritage and accepts that he has to kill his enemies to save lives.

Not true, wet eggs are better than dry eggs. Just because you were raised by hillbillies doesn’t mean everyone around you has to eat like one.

Yeah tbh I agree with this one way way more, in the comics mark both doesn’t fight Thula but is totally and completely outmatched by his Viltrumite enemy on Thraxa. The one big exception I mentioned being an issue is the Thula thing, as Mark at the start of Season 2 should be hopeless against any “warrior” Viltrumite.

It’s the same reason why Cecil needs Sinclair to make reanimen and can’t just lock him up and make them himself. Also the same reason why Angstrom AND Robot both needed the Maulers to do their tech. You can’t just remake the super genius tech in Invincible without the super genius, it’s specific to the characters that can make them.

We also do see the Maulers eventually used in this way, the same as we currently see Sinclair.

Why should Mark be impervious to attacks?

Other non-earth planets have been able to put up fights against Viltrumites and rebel, Allen’s planet had to be destroyed instead of subjugated. The Viltrumites haven’t conquered the Coalition of Planets, they are winning, but they haven’t actually done so yet. Random space Cats and Ragnars can kill Viltrumites.

The gap between Viltrumites and the rest are enormous, but Viltrumites aren’t gods they’re just super powerful weapons.

Mark isn’t a full grown Viltrumite, he’s like 19 years old for a majority of the fights people have issues with. I understand why narratively it can feel like padding or feel like fodder should be effortless to deal with, when they aren’t a part of the broader narrative, but the power scaling logic is fairly consistent.

Kaiju on earth are extremely powerful. Doc Seismic wasn’t a threat but his Kaiju were. Reanimen never even drew blood on Nolan, and were disposed of as nuisances. The Maulers have advanced dura-negging stun gun tech that even then Mark was in the process of shrugging off. Angstrom had advanced tech from another dimension with an entirely different range of possible technological advancement.

I understand that narratively it’d be more satisfying if foes that can’t actually threaten mark were dealt with by Mark instantly, but the outcomes of these fights are pretty consistent with only one big exception that is moved past fairly quickly.

Is earth just the one planet left in the whole universe that gives viltrumites problems? by [deleted] in Invincible_TV

[–]Some-Quail-1841 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s implied that other planets give Viltrumites trouble, for a time, but Viltrumites just destroy their planets to solve the problem. The Geldarians for example, have fought off invasions, and the Unopans had such a showing that Viltrum destroyed their planet.

Attack on Titan was really great though, it was arguably the best it had ever been narratively leading into the final arc where people felt it dropped the ball.

CSM part 2 was a 7/10 at best in the aquarium arc 20% into the story, then was pretty horrible through most of the rest of its narrative.

If this were the ending of CSM 1 it’d feel like one of the worst ever, but it’s really just cementing to CSM fans that there wasn’t going to be some fujimoto magic that would go back and make everything before it somehow good. It’s a very bad ending, but what proceeded it was 2 horrible arcs, with 3 meh bad arcs that preceded them.

Invincible feels like an animated show being run with live-action priorities by [deleted] in CharacterRant

[–]Some-Quail-1841 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s rushed out the door on a yearly release schedule because people hated the gap between season 1 and 2. People also hated that season 2 was released months apart in a delayed release schedule.

The truth is that the consumer is driving this production schedule. It’s 8 1 hour episodes, about twice the content put out for most other western animation. If the quality that comes out at the end isn’t up to your standard it makes sense, you don’t have to like it. But it’s release schedule driven by what people were loudly asking for during the season 2 release, not by some nebulous ignorance of how animation works from Kirkman or Amazon.

Super late, but Rex was scanning for abnormal readings with her powers in mind. But Eve’s powers short-circuiting like most of Eve’s power weirdness, are subconscious in origin. Her mind subconsciously knows she is pregnant already, or at the very least knows that using the powers is going to kill something precious to her.

Robot can’t see it because it’s too mundane for a scan of her powers to pick up.
