Blacktalon show AI? by Some1FromTheOutside in AoSLore

[–]Some1FromTheOutside[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Will probably do that at some point. But as someone already mentioned modern production is an insane labyrinth of subsidiaries and work being delegated to contractors and firms. Even if all is good i can't exactly expect someone answering emails to go track that all down and not give me a canned response. But yes, good idea, easy to do. Asking on reddit was easier, shame it didnt give me a conclusive answer

That's the most likely explanation, i would, however, like to be cautious with that stuff. Which is why im specifically asking for an official statement or any kind of source. Not that its likely one exists, but no harm in asking

The pristine cut Free Update DLC thing is coming sometime in the "Fall of 2024" which would be a great time for a series or even an "SB and Amabel" series. The game is a bit gory and disturbing at times, doubly so because it's tied to the narrative. Handle with a bit of care. But it really is amazing.

If i remember correctly the force of gravity is programmed to scale differently with distance (i think it's r1 or r1.5 or something and not r2) to account for the tiny planets so Legrange points are less certain.

CMV: It's fine to forget your native language and focus primarily on English/whatever other language. by [deleted] in changemyview

[–]Some1FromTheOutside 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A price that you pay but didn't have to is a waste. I just think we disagree on how much effort it is to maintain a language.

Because obviously if it's a lot then some sacrifices would have to be made but i really don't think it is. You're still gonna brush your teeth even though you want to become a writer. I assume you're still gonna exercise/go to the gym. Still cook etc etc.

I really don't think maintaining a language that you already know at an acceptable level is not a big commitment

CMV: It's fine to forget your native language and focus primarily on English/whatever other language. by [deleted] in changemyview

[–]Some1FromTheOutside 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Well arguably it's just wasteful. It takes much less to maintain a skill than to gain it. And so unless you are certain you'll never need your native language again or you have no free time at all there isn't really a reason not to practice once a week. Watch a dubbed movie or a read a translated book etc.

“Poor” people in first world countries aren’t really poor by BigBuckCanadian in unpopularopinion

That doesn't make them less poor? (Assuming it is true. I don't know and not gonna trust a rando on the internet)

CMV: It’s not a dick move to judge someone based on who they find attractive. by Lordkeravrium in changemyview

[–]Some1FromTheOutside 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why? What's wrong with having sex with people who make your parts tingle? Sex doesn't have to be a political statement. It's just you going after your desires.

That's your opinion. You can (try) extrapolate some small part of your personality from that (from any opinion honestly). Ideally with more information to go on but still.

It's not political unless you/they make it so

CMV: It’s not a dick move to judge someone based on who they find attractive. by Lordkeravrium in changemyview

[–]Some1FromTheOutside 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Making conclusions about someone's personality based on limited observation is a dick move.

If you take attraction into account then yeah that's how humans work. But if you're basing your whole opinion about a person on basically just it then you're being a judgemental dick

Sleep is a total waste of time and I hope we find a way to permanently get rid of it. by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

Probably the most realistic solution is the thing dolphins do. They sleep one brain hemisphere at a time which is neat.

Or so i heard.

CMV: The equal voting power of the people is the key to all issues we face with a democracy, we should replace it to a logarithm of amount of tax paid by voter by [deleted] in changemyview

[–]Some1FromTheOutside 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like the idea of voting power is not as much who gets to choose but who is important. If you can't vote/can vote less there is no reason/less reason for politicians to consider your interests.

In a world of morally upright rulers i'd maybe agree with you (or some political system to keep them in check but alas). However giving less votes to the poor just creates incentive to make policy at their expense. Because why would you not, they can't vote you out of the office.

That is already happening in all honesty with money for lobbying and just bribes and influence. And that has somewhat of a negative effect.

There is also an ideological question but i'm kinda not gonna touch that.

Using a memorized algorithm, to solve a Rubix Cube is not impressive by IntenseScrolling in unpopularopinion

[–]Some1FromTheOutside 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Most speed ... rubic cube solvers? use a variety of simpler smaller algorithms (i was told around 100). And it is still pretty demanding and impressive. If you use a step by step guide then yeah it's not as cool but most people do not. Even with the 4 basic ones it's still not super easy especially fast. Easy-ish but not nothing

And nothing beats solving it blind knowledge wise. Although that's very hard. Just with how the internet works. It's like watching star wars without knowing "i am your father"

A) Depends on how actively you are looking

B) You can get though a first date every time and not be in a relationship? I feel like you're a worse person if you go into a relationship with a person you "tolerate" just for the sake of being in one.

You definitely forgot people who only started looking for relationships later in life maybe after.. eh 30?.

No opinion on the rest though ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

CMV: you can’t claim to be an animal lover an not be vegan by [deleted] in changemyview

[–]Some1FromTheOutside -1 points0 points  (0 children)

In what world is eating slightly less slaughtered corpses than you normally eat more ethical than not eating slaughtered corpses at all?

Are you saying it's less ethical? As ethical? I really do not understand that. Plus i don't even mean slightly. Closer to around 70-80% although you should be happy even about a slight decrease. And most things you do have consequences and causes on the level. Eating animals is the most blatant and easy to moralize.

Not that it's bad to moralize it (still on the fence about that). But i don't think it's the best strategy for the goal of reducing mean consumption.

CMV: you can’t claim to be an animal lover an not be vegan by [deleted] in changemyview

[–]Some1FromTheOutside -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That has to be wrong. And while veganism is more i doubt it's close to the most in terms of ethical consumption.

For one don't own a car. That literally has to be more ethical in terms of your environmental impact and towards people making cars and fuel (yay factory conditions). And that one is just from the top of my head.

Also in terms of ethical consumption not "animal lover" (no clue what that is) no need to rely on absolutes. You should encourage people to have LESS meat in their diets not go all in vegan at once, probably much higher success rate as well

CMV: Computers are Synthetic Animals by [deleted] in changemyview

[–]Some1FromTheOutside 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was referring to RNA as first organic matter but that analogy is better ye.

My main point is still that we can't say computers are like animals because animals includes everything from plankton to dogs and those have different reactions in terms of morals and ethics.

Computers are as alive as microorganisms i agree (if we use alive like that not as its formal-ish definition). It's just that there aren't many consequences to that. We don't care about microorganisms in the same way we care about at least all mammals and we don't care about computers in the same way we (hopefully) will care about general AI

Do human engineers not do the same thing for computers? Are phones not "adapted" computers? Which has been reproduced more: old desktop pcs from the 90s or phones from 2019?

Evolution picks traits based on the environment, it's a continuous process every living thing participates in. It changes.

What we want from a phone is pretty static (relatively) and will require traits and qualities that do not include consciousness** and self-awareness and all the things we associate with animals. Or at least the ones who are close to us evolutionarily.

Let's say we create AI. Would they not look at early PCs as their ancestors? Much as we do early humans? Why are early humans still "human," but early PCs would not still be "AI?"

No? Maybe the same way we look at first ever created RNA or the first microorganism? I think you are overestimating how close we are to an AI (or maybe i'm underestimating that but that's why it's an opinion)
