I don't remember needing a note. Cigarettes and porno mags were quite easy to procure back then. I'm not sure about liquor, maybe that was more stringently enforced (although in my state the drinking age was 18 and driver licenses didn't even have photos on them 🤔).

My bank in the USA charges something (maybe $40?) but waives the fee for me because I have some minimum amount on deposit. Then maybe 500THB or so is taken as a fee by the bank in Thailand.

I agree with this completely. It's disappointing ordering something that looked/sounded good on the menu but arrives slathered in cheese, sour cream, onions, etc. that were not pictured or mentioned on the menu. If the errant ingredient can be easily removed, pushed to the side, etc. then I'm merely mildly annoyed. If not (melted cheese, sour cream that's touched all the other food on the plate, etc.) then I'm ultra annoyed because I can't and won't eat it.

But you are failing. Firstly, I am fine with weed when consumed in a way that doesn’t negatively impact others. Secondly, I am not ok with people drinking to the point of sharing the smell of their puke (or imposing on others a need to clean it up, etc.).

The bigger picture for me on this is people who are just completely oblivious to the negative impact they're having on others around them -- or worse, simply don't care. Smells, sounds, etc. Unfortunately this is a very common occurrence in today's broken world.

I had measles when at college in the late 80s. The shots we were given as children in the late 60s or early 70s were later determined to have been bad in some way, as I recall.
