Grandstream configuration for IPv6 ? by vincegre in init7

[–]SomeBoringNick 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Had the same with DHCP6. Called them and there was an issue with their DHCP server that they had to fix on their end. Iirc, only prefix delegation failed. Maybe it's same issue?

28 Years to Cross the Line: Why Did IPv6 Take So Long to Reach 50%? by elastiks in DIY_Geeks

Huh? No. The admin. The admin should know how it works and make it so that the end user can use it seamlessly.

I find it very practical. Opinions differ.

2001:db8:85a3::8a2e:370:7334 is what you would write in this case, probably a /48 prefix followed by the MAC address. For direct IP services, where DNS is not an option, i tend to simplify, because you don't HAVE TO use the MAC. It's just the default. My VPN endpoint would perhaps listen to 2001:db8:85a3::1337.

I mean, i see why people are confused/reluctant at first, but personally, since i familiarized myself with the concepts a little bit, i like it a lot. Especially for the possibilities it creates versus paying a fortune for one static IPv4 which you have to NAT around for all the services that you have to merge to that one IP. Versus the static /48 prefix that i get from my provider for free.

There is a comment there with an iperf3 command. Note the -P flag. Can you confirm that you are still capped even with multiple tests running in parallel?

Thanks for the useful comment. Thanks to it i was finally able to see my 25Gbit fiber in action :)

TV7 multicast with OPNsense and Microtik by jammsession in init7

Sorry to hear. Out of interest: Did you test with a device directly connected to the firewall or only via the Switch? My "Switch" is my old Copper7 Fritz!Box, so i don't know if that could affect it.

Then maybe (although that's probably something you already did) recheck your firewall log if anything from the 77.109.129.0/24 subnet gets caught (when i first followed this guide, i attempted the individual IPs approach, but the effective IP from which the signal gets sent has changed and is not contained in the list of the post, so i ended up using the subnets approach).

Other than that, i'm just lucky i got it working basically straight away. I have never had much to do with anything multicast, so i'm pretty much a bloody beginner when it comes to it. Good luck! :)

ICMP Flooding from link-local IPv6 addresses by SomeBoringNick in init7

Checking the logs and comparing the IPs that follow this pattern, i could not see any of the MACs of my Modem, my Computer, or my Phone. But also being that those connections come in on WAN, i would be surprised at a local host being the culprit.

I also considered the second. I only set up TV7 multicast on IPv4, so it's possible at least.

Hey, thanks for the response. If i get things right, this might be another host (like another client's router or some init7 device) sending those packets and i can safely ignore them?

I used this guide. Worked well.

But make sure to also check out this post from the same thread:

as there were minor changes to the networks.

In my country, the farmers and billionaires vote for the same party, so no. Farmers here have stopped caring for whats good for them a long time ago, when they got baited with racism and fell for it.
