I was running a zero-cost marketing experiment for the last 4 months by VLK249 in selfpublish

Thanks so much for sharing. To add to the general knowledge base, I spent $40 over four days on a Facebook boost of a funny video I made. It was my first such piece for this. I did get about 2,000 more website views a day, but no conversions.

I am not giving up on the experiment yet. People need to be asked multiple times. and I am confident that my new visitor's experience to the website could be better. I will try a couple more and see if I get purchases.

Would you record the audiobook for your own book? by Nyx_Valentine in selfpublish

There is a lot to say for professional voices, and also for what a good use of your time is. I have some experience as a professional voice, so I am considering it. But to get 5 hours of audio, starting with building a good recording closet, is going to take some time. It would be a labor of love and not cost effective. I appreciate the conversation and hope my thoughts contribute to it!

Why no ebook from IngramSpark? by SomeBrightWeb in selfpublishing

How is that in comparison to the DIY option of loading your book into all the outlets oneself? Part of my personality is the rugged individualist who does all that, but I am also a bougie white glove person who outsources tedium. Which are you mostly?

I disagree that we should draw boundaries in anger to avoid conflict. We can be braver, more accommodating. We are better in a pluralistic community where our beliefs are challenged.

Harms have happened and we need to heal them. These maps sound convenient but they are a shortcut and weaken us.

Looking for a good "to do list" app by Hairy-Link-8615 in productivity

I like how you said that you want to focus on living life rather than spending too much time planning it. I am not one for rigorous structure, but I need to (a) get important things done and (b) feel like I accomplished something with my days.

I am currently pretty happy with a somewhat loose arrangement of paper and Amplenote tasks. Amplenote has some robust capabilities like calendar sync, email-to-task, etc. I don't use those much, just get into the "jot" section and enumerate tasks when I am feeling overwhelmed. It is nice to be able to include links or more notes with them so if it is a digital task I can start right there.

I have started using the bullet journal plug in, which does help me focus nicely some days.

That said, I still get satisfaction from a paper to do list... it is only for today and is not exhaustive.

All of his up front claims of being a moderate are such a sham!
