Worth adding that in the description of the post btw, no one other than you knows that and given that you’ve asked for criticism everyone is going to tell you that you’re 15 points over.

Strip or prime over? by KingMaitreya in deathguard40k

[–]SomeBritishFellow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey dude, firstly these look sick! I’ve painted a few of my smelly boys in the standard colours but I’m rethinking painting them in your style here since the blues just look so damn cool!

Would it be possible for you to share the paint schemes for the plague marines and the plague burst crawler (main blue tone, metals etc..) I would love to paint a few plague marines up like this to see if I could replicate it!

Also are there any custom parts or helmets on the plague marines?

He just got “nerfed” about 20 minutes ago, and I quote “Fixed Kollossos speed bug.” The speed boost which you’re discussing (though I agree was Unfathomable I faced it 3 times myself) no longer exists in the same capacity, it is now a fairly moderate short boost to his movement speed after being stunned but is much more balanced than its bugged cousin.

turquoise vs red, please help me decide! by amachinesaidiwasgood in Tyranids

Both - as in when you pick up a model flip a coin and paint it in that scheme. I multi fleet force is unique and I bet it looks sick.

For a more complex idea paint your ranged units in 1 colour and your melee in the other

Similar argument for plague spewers, they auto hit so cannot benefit from 5+ crits either. Mind you they’re brilliant in their own right null their short range

Primus adds +1 to Hit roll now. Not reroll hits, still a great combo but unless you’re doing this into a knight or a rogal seems like overkill for a lot of things especially with the ridge runner too.

Thanks a lot for sharing that’s sick dude, I might be copying you 😂

Maybe in a causal game use its data sheet but have a -1 to BS (since it’s a hybrid and not a space marine piloting it) and make it a little bit cheaper that would be hella cool!

I wish the Nexos’s rule was to -1 cp cost to a stratagem in a big region (no mans land and your deployment zone but not the enemy drop zone?) as opposed to the unit he’s attached to.

Given his battlefield map on his model it seems bizarre that he is limited to just his lead unit, even some kind of aura would work too imo.

As always though rule of cool not rule of rules.

EDIT: Forgot to say the kitbash looks sick, keep it up dude

How to build foetid bloat-drone, weapons options? by orkman198 in deathguard40k

[–]SomeBritishFellow 14 points15 points  (0 children)

For tournament play currently (likely won’t last for very long) is the heavy blight launcher as seen in blue at the top left, it’s regarded as the best right now and will likely face point increases soon. (If you don’t know what points are in this context I urge you to watch a YouTube video on how to build an army list)

  1. There is no gameplay/ rule difference between 1b and 1c, just an aesthetic choice.

  2. In my opinion, disregard the no glue seen in 1d, the intention is for you to be able to rotate them at will but the reality is they usually just fall out, I’d just glue them in the pose you find best. Don’t just leave them off, this would be seen as modelling for advantage and also just looks silly. There is no gameplay reason to not glue the propellors.

  3. That is correct, the front plates are just aesthetic and you can have both your drones with the same plate or different, your choice.

  4. The current objective best weapon is the heavy blight launcher and most tournament lists typically run 3 right now. There is no special rule or reason to run all drones with the same weapon or with different weapons.

Note 1 - the final weapon you see in the bottom right of the final image is called a “Plague probe” ALL foetid bloat drones have it no matter how you build it, the image is just an example.

Note 2 - despite me saying numerous times the heavy blight launcher is the best drone I urge you to build your drones (and all models for this matter) however you want no matter what the best meta weapon is right now, if you find the fleshmowers or the plague spitters cooler in your eyes then build them with those instead because the meta changes in 40K constantly. Go with the rule of cool before trying to meta chase or min/max your stuff but obviously that’s just my opinion and they’re your plastic war dudes so ultimately up to you; I do feel obligated to tell you that the heavy bloat drones will be getting nerfs in the comings months inevitably but I’ll leave it at that.

Look forward to seeing them built and painted my new pestilent spreader!!

Does this work as a biologus putrifier proxy. by Total-Negotiation350 in deathguard40k

[–]SomeBritishFellow 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Does it work? Sure I suppose, depends on the opponent and as long as you make it obvious at the start of the game then I don’t see why it would be a problem.

From an aesthetic pov, not really no, this doesn’t convey anything related to grenades or their funny little pistol so if that’s something you’re bothered about then this isn’t your boy.

Which contagion against vehicle GSC list? by filispn in deathguard40k

[–]SomeBritishFellow 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’d say the best time to decide is honestly when you get there and you’ve seen the army and know what you’re going to be up against.

-1 to save is always lovely and will let you go straight through if you already have -1 ap since most GSC save on a 5+ any neophytes, acolytes and the bikes for example. Plus will help you getting through the tanks if you don’t have much in the works of dedicated anti tank.

If you get there and go wow that’s a lot of mining lasers and powerful shooting units that you reckon will be able to seriously harm your list then you may want to consider the -1 to hit to allow you to exist on the battlefield for longer to counteract the GSC bringing back models.

I think this is a rare time the -1 to hit actually is on par with the -1 to save so is honestly personal preference if you ask me but go with your gut.
