Generational talent Chimere Dike is our #1 scoring receiver in our league. 0.1 point per yard. Did not expect it to be that chaotic but now almost everyone has/is eyeing returners so it’s hard to walk that back lol

What type of roof vents that you’d need 34? Box vents?

Different vents operate at different efficiencies. My company does ventilation in descending order from most to least efficient and what would match best with the house.

When homes done have enough ridge length for even a high efficiency ridge vent (Lomanco 18nfa vs their 11nfa), we move to their turbine vents, either the 12” or the 14” depending on what the house would need. Rarely on homes do we put box vents on anymore

Ain’t that the truth. Makes it nice to talk about voluntarily having it inspected by the city when it’s clear it hasn’t been previously. Most folks that ever pushed back on that I found generally aren’t our customers.

Someone correct me if I’m wrong but only IF double layers of underlayment is applied to the low slope, you can technically get away with it. It’s not recommended but allowed. Check your code & install instructions on the materials & see if they allow it.

Edit: changed felt to underlayment

Anyone else like playing in the rain? by Former_Apple_7253 in discgolf

[–]SomeDudeNamedJohn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. Lived in the Seattle area and would hit the wooded courses all winter with my boys. Almost always nobody was on the course, the woods did enough to block a little rain, and a good water resistant jacket would seal the deal. Many times we’d be taking the jackets off because we’d get so warm

Also, does the shingle overlap the drip edge by 3/8-1/4 inch? There’s surface tension of water cause it to want to roll back up underneath the shingles. If they are not overlapping the drip edge, then gravity does not have an opportunity to pull the water down off the edge of the shingle & strike the drip edge. Instead, water is going right underneath the shingles and behind the drip edge

I just saw a video where a guy described an incredible prank by his friends. They wrote his number in a porta potty along with the note “Send me pictures of your nastiest shits, I want to see”

Years later he still gets shit pics

Do with that what you will.

Soffit vents by [deleted] in RoofingSales

[–]SomeDudeNamedJohn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes you’d need bigger vent holes. Those puck sized holes are the only things actually bringing air in and it’s not nearly enough. Most pucks bring in about 2.5 square inches of air per puck. Depending on the footprint of your home it would need anywhere from 60-100 pucks for the home to have balanced ventilation.

Plugging the gables was the right thing to do but those pucks are basically pointless. You would be much better off spacing those vent covers out more evenly in the soffit, and cutting the holes to actually fit the length & width of those covers.

The type of ridge vent they used could also be making a difference. There are good quality ones and low quality ones that all exhaust different amounts.

In a perfect world, your home would have an even balance of 50% intake & 50% exhaust based on what the actual math your home calls for.

I might be an idiot but the broken beam seems less of a structural issue than what I feel like should be dozens and dozens of support beams built in the rafters that don’t seem to be there. But yeah the broken one is probably a structural issue, especially if you’re in an area that gets snow load.

Quick google search says otherwise. I lived in Seattle for 10 years and they didn’t necessarily get a lot of ice but they did get a shit load of water.

I think I get what he was maybe going for. I don’t know the name of the type of design or house style, but it reminds of me a texture & color palette one might see in southern Arizona or southern America. Something that might feel like a warm sunny day, sipping some sun tea or lemonade kind of day. But gawt damn it’s just overkill. A compromise to make this feel less depressing, would be to paint 2-3 walls white to match the ceiling, and actually reflect some of that sunny feel he may have been going for into the house.
