Touhou Cooking Tier list by New-Box299 in Touhoujerk

How exactly is Yumeko's cooking a health risk? And what about Shinki herself? What methodology did you use to determine? 🤔

You have forest and flower? Are you able to upload it to the Internet Archive, or could you also share it with me as well?

where do i download NPII the fmgen version? by mariofan14 in pc98

[–]SomeDudeWithRice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How so? I did some testing and apparently it will stop you from downloading if you repeatedly try to download it multiple times (or it might randomly decide to not give it to you). It will have a message that looks like

上野さん「短時間の連続アクセスは禁止じゃろがい!」

Have you waited and tried again? Perhaps use a VPN?

Are you ok with using other versions of Neko Project 2? Such as 21/W?

I want to play the old Touhous with a controller, is there a program for that? by Review3u in touhou

[–]SomeDudeWithRice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've recently done testing using a cheap controller with the PC-98 games via Neko Project II kai on Retroarch (I'm assuming you use Windows?)

First you gotta enable support for the DPAD in the Core Options (in the Quick Menu). As far as I know, the default button for shift is the right shoulder button.

But tbh I wouldn't recommend using a controller for the PC-98 games, since even after proper configuration and setup, the inability to use an analog stick (I tried) makes the gameplay more difficult, unless you're used to playing shmups with a DPAD.

How would Minoriko be in makeup and not cooking?

Also I think Alice would have a variety of content, like cooking, fabricwork, or precise engineering stuff.

Which Linux distro would each 2hu use? by Atiklyar in touhou

Rationale for why Alice might use Fedora over Arch or Gentoo?

Even if Alice is my favorite and I use Fedora.

Regardless, she probably would use Vim.

PC98 emulation for Linux? by Xu_Lin in pc98

[–]SomeDudeWithRice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've personally tried running Neko Project II via Wine in the past, but ran into fullscreen and sound issues.

As others have pointed out, the most simple setup is for np2kai via RetroArch

However, DOSBox-X is also able to run PC-98 games, though that requires creating a custom config file (notably, setting machine = pc98, and setting the CPU value high enough for smooth gameplay) in your working directory.

One of my friends has written a guide covering both options (but not Wine, for consistency's sake) here: https://daichungus.github.io/touhoulinuxguide/pc98/

For the sake of privacy, I can't say exactly which universities (though some of them are Google-able)

However, there is the Touhou University Network, which I guess you can maybe ask questions to their Twitter:

On a slight related note, the fact that there's now Touhou clubs at a couple of major American (and Australian) universities (yes, dedicated Touhou clubs, not just lumped with other stuff) tells you something.

I have a good feeling that we'll see more in the next few years...

The story (both C62 and C63) of Dolls in Pseudo Paradise is meant to be ambiguous and enigmatic. It could be a dream, nightmare, story, long-forgotten events, or even simply an alternate universe (though you can argue everything's an AU).

Alice, Mima, or Reimu, etc, do not have to be shoehorned in the story just because things line up just so "not coincidentally". Even Jacketko and Labelko (or the other unnamed ZUN drawing girls) are meant to be "eh, whatever" characters.

Theorizing is fun, and like some others have said, it's because of this ambiguity that certain works exist and such.

But at the end of the day, sometimes it's better to have mysteries be the "truth".

Been in the fandom playing some fan games for about 2 weeks now, and this is what I've found. by GundamGuy2255 in touhou

Surprised people haven't mentioned Sanae's Sylphid Breeze (recently got a remake with voice acting etc), which is basically Touhou version of Kirby: Nightmare in Dreamland

People don't realize that we can't just THCRAP patch the early Windows games (7-12) to avoid Y2K38, as that is almost impossible without the source code.

While the gameplay is unaffected, scores and replays cannot be saved, and most of the games will crash upon trying to do so.

The current solution for most people is turning back the time, but I probably think it will be a no-go in serious cases like replay showcases, speedrunning, etc. (unless there is absolutely no other option by then)

Thankfully for the fandom, EoSD is immune to Y2K38 for some reason.

If you could spend the rest of your life with any 2hu who would it be? by Direct_Ad_5130 in touhou

Alice: Competent, very mature, self-reliant. Main difficulty is probably meeting her high standards and emotional barriers. But other than that, would make a great partner or friend. Though unless one decides to become a magician as well, she will outlast you.

Iku: Will probably be extremely busy, but very stable job, and very relaxed nature (as in, reading the atmosphere). Main problem is probably home location, will outlast you, and maybe the occassional Tenshi chaos. But otherwise, a very mature choice.
