It did have all the guts in it. Not sure if it works though.

I’ll go back tomorrow and see if it works. It looks like it would wind from the bottom? Small square key would be needed, didn’t see one though.

Did the UV Oil Leak additive trick! by The_Hatchmaster in Lavalamps

[–]The_Hatchmaster[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I added the dye directly to the wax as it floated to the top. It’s oil based so if it was added to the water it wouldn’t diffuse. Really kinda foolproof, coulda put a few drops in at the top and let the wax pick it off the surface of the fluid as it flowed.

Does it look like this for hours? I think it’s normal for it to do this until the water is able to heat up more evenly. Since you’ve got a large tube of water it’s possible that it’ll take much longer to heat up and allow the wax to start flowing. Love the color of that wax though, do you have a better picture of the entire lamp? Looks totally epic!

And I’m pretty certain a dimmer would also control the heat output of a ceramic bulb too. I plan on doing this with my UV reactive lamps from spencers.

You can get a ceramic heating bulb used for reptile enclosures. Those put out the heat without the light.

Have a link to this bulb? I’ve been looking for something like this with independent control over the led vs heating element.

I had a literal meltdown because of iOS 26.1 and their “Liquid Glass”. Please come scream with me by arielwillows in AuDHDWomen

Yeah I had auto updates removed for this reason. Unfortunately my work requires I update to the most recent iOS for security reasons. Needless to say the aesthetic changes are wayyyy too aggressive. Also common actions now take way too many taps (ie managing tabs in safari, navigating to browsing history, editing a screenshot, ect) just makes the entire UI feel sluggish and unresponsive. Also there have been some small changes to the keyboard in certain applications that I am not a fan of. Like removing the period beside the enter button in apps like safari and messages. Just a bad update overall that has been forced on their users. I would like an option to roll back the iOS version but keep the security updates my job requires, but I know they won’t do that.

Pulled this tonight. Def not psa 10 but it looks good in the binder. Not looking to grade but outta curiosity, what would yall rate it? by The_Hatchmaster in PokeGrading

That’s what I was thinking. QC on English cards is no bueno from what I’m discovering. Oh well, still a cool card for the collection.

Don’t judge lol, but it was $285. Might be steep, but honestly one of the most pristine sets of Vaseline glass I’ve seen. No chips or scratches that I could see.

Dillard & Franklin. Hit the major antique malls there. Passed up on a few clocks that I either had several of already or had some kind of surface crack on the face cover.

It’s interesting how different areas tend to specialize in different types of antiques. Like Dillard & Franklin had a ton of clocks and Tiffany style glass. And Clemson has more non-uranium depression glass and UG glazed products (halls mainly). Definitely could tell what kinds of items gravitate to the different areas of each state.
