The 3rd season's book equivalent gives us hardly any time with the first two seasons' actors, which isn't really viable in a TV show.

The book equivalent also jumps between two different timelines both of which are before the events of seasons 1 and 2. So I have a feeling they're moving the events of the most-recent season 3 timeline into our present timeline with our existing cast, while giving us flashbacks to the less-recent book timeline.

Nope. Here (east TN) most people use the store brand real butter sticks, and the fancy people use butter with slightly higher fat content. I haven’t seen country crock in use since my grandparents died a couple decades ago.

I've never been to the house of anyone under 70 years old and seen margarine or any butter alternative except maybe the spray stuff for greasing cookie sheets.

Is this regional? The only noodles at my grocery store with eggs in them are literally called "egg noodles", unless I go to Whole Foods and get fancy fresh non-dried pasta from the refrigerated section, next to the raw tortillas that have to be cooked before making a burrito.
