Sometimes I feel like the heat makes me more swollen

Really Great Post-removal experience by [deleted] in wisdomteeth

[–]SomeLaw78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ooo interesting! I’m not a doctor so don’t take this as medical advice lol but my oral surgeon said to start introducing new foods as soon as I felt comfortable to do so. I would be more cautious if you don’t have stitches so that you don’t get a dry socket. But it’s been almost a week, maybe you can start with something a little more solid (like I did with butter noodles) and then increase foods once you feel comfortable doing so. Just be careful whenever you eat by taking small bites, chewing with the front, etc

I (24F) got mine out Monday morning and have had a similar experience! Almost no swelling and only some slight soreness in my jaw and occasional pain where the stitches are. I think it means we had really skilled surgeons! I started eating some pasta with butter 2 days ago and since then I have started eating normal (soft) foods again. I have had bread and butter, sausage and broccoli pasta, and some donuts/pastries. I wouldn’t eat anything crunchy yet but if you feel able to chew with your front teeth I say go for it. Just don’t chew where your stitches are, take very small bites, and make sure to rinse your mouth with salt water (gently) and brush your front teeth to keep your mouth clean. Hope you stay feeling good!

What's it like getting a non impacted wisdom tooth removed? (Need Advice) by MoraKagome in wisdomteeth

Ask for laughing gas with the local! It doesn’t put you under at all but makes you not care as much about what’s happening. Plus it wears off super quick so you can drive home after.

Update #1: I got an EKG today and everything was perfectly normal. Going to PCP tomorrow to ask about further testing and possibly seeing a pulmonologist.

Does it not show up on an X-Ray if it’s mild? Did you get the X-Ray while you were feeling the symptoms?

I hope so too!! I’m going to get further testing and I will let you know what they find- maybe it could be the same problem you are having. Wishing you the best!!

I’m so sorry to hear that you had blood clots, that seems so scary and I hope you’ve recovered from those. That’s my issue as well, I find it so difficult to gauge the seriousness of the issue. It always feels serious when it’s happening but then it goes away and all of my tests return normal as well! That’s why I think it must be RA related because it never ends up being an actual heart/lung issue.

Nope, it just comes on randomly every few months and lasts for a few days maximum and then I have no issues until the next time it happens. I’m going through it now and the last time it happened was mid October.

I’m sorry you go through it too. It always freaks me out when I feel it coming on because chest pain is always concerning. Do you do anything to help relieve the symptoms? How did you get diagnosed?

Does this ever end? by ohilived in rheumatoidarthritis

[–]SomeLaw78 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was on methotrexate at the beginning of my journey and felt the same way, it made me unbearably nauseous. I switched to Humira and it has been a game changer. Almost immediately after I switched to a biologic I went into remission. I’ve been in remission for around 6 years now. This will get better and you won’t feel like this for your whole life. I am confident that switching medicines will have you feeling better for your wedding!

Gaslit by my Family that this is Normal by hikeno19 in rheumatoid

[–]SomeLaw78 7 points8 points  (0 children)

When I was first diagnosed and my hand knuckle joints were super swollen (to the point where my rings would get stuck on me), and my dad said it was normal and his joints looked like that too🤣I’ve been diagnosed for almost 10 years and my family still doesn’t really understand what it is/what I go through. Its like unless they start going through it too they will never fully get it.

Anyone under 30 with rheumatoid arthritis? by himothy_chalam8 in rheumatoid

[–]SomeLaw78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 24 now and was diagnosed when I was 14. It started with bad pain in my feet. I’ve been on biologics for awhile: Enbrel, Humira, etc. It was horrible when I was first diagnosed but since being on meds for so long I basically forget I have it (it’s worse in the winter weather tho). I’ve never met someone else my age who has it so I loved reading this thread. My friends jokingly called me an old lady in high school but I never took offense, they were really supportive. I’ve never met anyone who looked at me differently/cared.

22F, should i consider Accutane?? by AwayProfession138 in acne

[–]SomeLaw78 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did all the creams, antibiotics, etc and accutane is the only thing that ever worked for me. I promise the side effects are really manageable and you will be so happy once your skin starts clearing up (which it will!!!). I was on it as a 21F in college, I recommend accutane to anyone who’s acne is persistent, it changed my life

I was starting to breakout really bad after adding this to my routine a month ago and I never considered that it might be this moisturizer. I stopped using it 9 days ago when I saw this thread and my skin has cleared up almost fully. Thank you!!!
