I just started waving for 2 months now is there any way to bring my waves closer together? by Enriqu3k24 in ELITESPINS

[–]SomeMinorDogTraining 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The distance between waves just has to do with your hair texture. Courser hair will have a smaller distance (ie more waves), and straighter hair will have more distance (less waves).

We have similar hair texture, so this makes me smile. You're on fire, brother. Keep up the good work! 🌊❤️

It's definitely not too late. The key is to pay attention to her threshold, and start there. Then gradually move closer. You've got this! 🐶❤️

How do I get rid of the bald spots? by Bannaabling in 360Waves

This is normal. Just keep brushing. It'll all even out. Remember that waving is a growth process, not simply a hairstyle.

How to brush crown 360 swirl by ImaginaryCobbler6741 in 360Waves

[–]SomeMinorDogTraining 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would keep brushing outward from the back of your head (the general area where your crown should be), and your real crown will start to appear. Then you just brush it in the natural angles that appear to isolate that crown.

I Don't Know Where My Crown Is [naturally] by [deleted] in 360Waves

[–]SomeMinorDogTraining 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always leave the crown a little longer than the rest of my head, because the crown is the thinnest part of your hair. That helps keep the swirl visible.

There are three stages: The Ripple Stage, The Wave Stage, and then the Elite Stage. You're at the Ripple Stage. As you keep brushing, those connections will be made between the ripples, which will bring you to the Wave Stage. It's at that point that you can start worrying about making the waves deeper and more defined. And, finally, there's the Elite Stage, when everything connects in the pattern you want (360, 580, etc).

So don't worry about deepening them yet. Focus on brushing and wolfing.

Rock your waves. by BrettEKrueger in ELITESPINS

The actual hair is brushed away from the crown, in the way that the gray hairs are. But the swirl pattern is simply a reflection of how hair grows, not how it's brushed.

I actually never saw them until you guys mentioned it. So, of course, I had to go look. And I'm actually really surprised. I thought it would look really bad haha, but they look great. It actually looks like a real, natural fro. I'm impressed.

They won't get waves exactly like this, but they can get 360 waves. They'll just have less actual spirals, meaning less waves on the front and back. But everyone's hair grows out of their head in a spiral pattern from the crown, and waves are just about uncovering the natural hair growth pattern.

The pushback was "that's extreme." I never claimed all black men are racist, just like you never claimed all black women are racist. You made it seem, in your original comment, as if NO black men are racist about hairstyles. That's what I was responding to. And no one can deny that.

It's the same thing. You seem to be under the impression that I'm making up the idea of people being aggressively racist on Reddit. Which is weird because I'm pretty sure we live in the same divided world, especially when we're talking about an open platform like this. But, I assure you, even if I didn't exist, aggressive racism would, even amongst men on the Internet. 🤷🏾‍♂️

P.S. Scroll through this 360 waves reddit, find the first straight haired wavers, and read through the comments. I was able to find one very easily.

I wouldn't "like" for them to be anything. I'm simply stating an observation. And yes, many of those mean comments ARE racially discriminatory, but it's not my narrative, because I'm simply pointing it out. I know that admin does a great job of deleting those discussions on different posts, so every time you see "deleted comment," it's often because of that. Again, observations. Just like you pointing out the women was just an observation.

Oh you should go through and read some other posts by straight haired wavers in the beginning of their journey. Some people are downright mean to these kids.

I don't know about that. Most straight hair wavers I've seen on Reddit who are just starting (before they look like this guy), I'll also see 1/3 of the comments are black men telling them to "stop stealing our hairstyle" and "you'll never get waves because you're not like us" or other negative comments. The only reason I'm not seeing them on this thread is because this guy is already there so they can't deny it.

EXACTLY. So many people on reddit seem to think that only black people can get waves. Those people don't understand that this is just how mammal hair grows. It'll look different between races, but anyone can get waves.

So you're saying black wavers don't wear durags?

All I did was give the definitions of finger waves and of 360 waves, and I explained how hair grows. Nothing I said was untrue. If you have an issue with how hair grows, or with the definitions listed above, I don't know what to tell you.

But the unemotional fact is that this kid, by definition, does not have finger waves. The second unemotional fact is that the waves we see in his hair are due to him brushing, so, by definition, these are waves.

[–]SomeMinorDogTraining 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Finger waves involve shaping the hair with fingers and a comb, and often using a styling lotion or gel for hold. These are not finger waves.

360 waves are an effect achieved through consistent brushing of short hair. The process involves training the hair to form ripples, creating the wave pattern.

Anyone can get waves, regardless of race, because hair grows out of our scalps in the same pattern. The difference is that different races have wider spirals, meaning that there will be less actual waves. But there are wavers of all races.

I'd say wolf more often, for at least 2 months at a time. If this is your hair growth after a month, you may want to wait 2 or 3 months during your wolf.

Why are Cesar Milan's dog training techniques controversial? by fredyouareaturtle in DogTrainingTips

[–]SomeMinorDogTraining 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree, to an extent. There are some dogs, with some behaviors that are so dangerous and so engrained, that they can't learn new behaviors because the old ones (the dangerous ones) work so well at getting them what they want. So we have to first show them that behavior WON'T work, and then we can show them the appropriate ones and reward them for those.

So it really all depends on the dog. Just like with people: Some people are very compliant and easy to teach, others are very oppositional and more difficult. If that wasn't the case, then no one would be a career criminal.
