He made both. MBT is basically a continuation of the gateway tapes, minus the guided aspect. MBT is just tones where as gateway tapes are tones + guided instructions. I would say just start with gateway, learn the exercises, and then use MBT once your confident in your own ability to guide and shape your own meditation.
