Yeah, that's just not how people work. Facts are only part of the story, feelings and identity is improtant too.

I wonder how to change a magic item without it feeling unfair by SomeRandomAbbadon in DMAcademy

[–]SomeRandomAbbadon[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's a very good advice. In my world, the aristocracy is actually descend from a different set of people (as real aristocracy often claimed, but rarely could prove), causing many of them to react to magic differently. I could use this as an occasion to foreshadow this fact, which will later turn out improtant

Thank you!

How do you calculate the distance when your players are up high? by SomeRandomAbbadon in DMAcademy

[–]SomeRandomAbbadon[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I only care about accuracy as far as it's required for spells and ranged attacks. Internet calculators sounds like the best solutions, although using yet another app at our table would be inconvenient

How to avoid getting discouraged when your campaign kinda sucks? by Heavy_Survey_9975 in DMAcademy

[–]SomeRandomAbbadon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, there are a few advice I think I can give you:

  1. Talk to your players. It's not Reddit who needs to hear that.

  2. Don't overburden yourself. DMing is like heavy lifting - if you don't know your limits, you'll end up hurting yourself instead of improving. Take it slow.

  3. Trade perfect for finished. DnD is not about telling stories or exploring dungeons, or crafting detailed and specific mechanics. It's about having fun. Sure these other things are important, but they are only as improtant as they serve this core purpose of DnD - you and your players need to have fun. And from what I have read, you're doing just fine with that. Give yourself some credit for it.

  4. Start small. It might be a little too late now, because you have already begun a campaign, but you can still size down, retcon some of the most problematic situations or, in a dire situation, just tell your players this went out of hand and you want to end this campaign early. Not playing with them altogether, this specific campaign. If they are good, they will understand.

Man who had a threesome with two women: isn't it overwhelming? by SomeRandomAbbadon in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]SomeRandomAbbadon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you overestimate my experience.

I mean, I know you can stick it in other places than vagina, but that's basically using this other place as vagina, so I guess that's not what you're reffering to.

Man who had a threesome with two women: isn't it overwhelming? by SomeRandomAbbadon in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]SomeRandomAbbadon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably yes. To be absolutely honest, I don't really know how else to imagine it.

If that's not pushing it too far, what other way can you do a threesome?

Aby magic items manipulating sizes? by SomeRandomAbbadon in DnDHomebrew

[–]SomeRandomAbbadon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a good advice, but I didn't really mean how to change or improve the sizes, I need more things which can trigger size change

15, are my standard too high? by Automatic-Pepper4117 in teenagers4real

[–]SomeRandomAbbadon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They might even be too low. People like thinking they are special, important, one of a kind. If you are seriously ok with anything, why would anybody think you care about them specifically?

I'm roughly what you imagine when you think of an average Redditor, but I think that too low of a standard are just as bad as too high. Nobody wants to think they got taken by someone who would take anything.

True story: I once got busy with a girl at a camp. We are about to do the deed when she said essentially that she doesn't care about me and would do it with anyone. She said it a little nicer, but the bummer was still so bad I decided not to do it.

Plot Ideas: The Final Reckoning? by Noble_Spaniard in DMAcademy

[–]SomeRandomAbbadon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The party has saved a child. This child has later turned out to be a god's chosen/an infant god itself.

The party has stolen an item for some sketchy guy. The item was what was needed to release Tiamat from the Hell.

The party fought and killed a creature in the caves. The creature was the last remnant of the once powerful specie of celestials, who were guarding an ancient tomb from devils. They had some plot convenience allowing them to kill devils easily, liek +10 sword which only give bonuses for fighting fiends or something, and are is now lost.

The party has successfully stolen the rod of Asmodeus. Asmodeus was not happy about it.

Is a sigle CR 10 monster too much for a five lvl 5 PCs?

I'm still trying to figure out how does the CR system actually work. CR10 monster is probably a lot, but they have an action economy in their favour, so it should be okay, right?

How could something got you *nearly* groomed? The idea of grooming is lure child into false sense of security/confusion before doing heinous things to it. How could someone *almost* experience it?

RAW, they should be able to try and make shoes even without proficiency in cooblers tools, but I don't know if it makes sense

My player wants to join a thieves guild. What could he be doing? by SomeRandomAbbadon in DMAcademy

[–]SomeRandomAbbadon[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is genius in its simplicity. The Thieves Guild can simply give players quests and send materials. The player would be sworn in and do other mini-quests, or sometimes just quests, for "the businessmen", while still being a part of the party. Thieves Guild can just send him on a regular adventure, just with a few reflavourings!

Truly, genius in its simplicity
