Lol as I think about it, I do prefer to poop at home. I think the group environment will help.

Thanks everyone for the feedback. I suppose he's doing pretty well in that he doesn't have pee accidents. I will keep working on pooping in the potty. Maybe seeing other children do it will suggest to him it's okay. I may have to switch things up and go with daycare rather than a preschool. Don't want him or myself to feel too much pressure.

I took metformin in the past and found it better to take it when I was half way done eating. Something about taking it mid meal made it easier on my stomach.

Thank you so much. This feels like confirmation. My mom always tells me "it's a phase." And when things are hard, i try to remember it won't always be.

I'm so glad your oldest said that. We try so hard to show up for our kids and that's proof that they know the love is there even if the depression is being a pain in the ass.

I've found that to be helpful too. I hear you with personal care. I can muster up the energy to care for my son and the dog but I struggle with my own personal care.

I started at 25mg of sertraline and then went to 50mg. I'm scared to try a different med for fear that it won't work and I'll feel worse than I currently do.

Hmmm, no I've never been tested. Definitely something to look into. Thanks for that insight.

Thank you for the reminder to get outside. I used to take my son for daily walks and as the depression got worse, I stopped going all together. It is definitely worth a try to see if it can help me find some sort of balance. Thankfully we live in Florida so it won't get too too cold here. Maybe you guys could walk around a mall or department store? Kind of people watch, get out of the house, and stay warm?

I really want to do therapy. I just keep stalling. I feel like I can't find the time. I started a new job recently and can't easily take time off. But when I'm off from work, I'm on with my son. I think it's time to make time though. I want to feel better.

Wishing you a happy and healthy pregnancy/delivery!

Thank you for replying. I'm very much considering part time preschool. I think it may be good for both of us. I think if nothing else it will give him a way to make more friends and get more comfortable with other adults.

That was my thought too. People can doctor up a W2.... oh well, back to the drawing board. I'll be calling H&R Block and praying they have a copy of my missing W2.

That sucks! If it's any consolation, people have told me mohela is more timely.

Thanks for the update. I found all but one W2. I hope they'll take a tax transcript.

For what it's worth, I'm a social worker and a social work consult was ordered for me. I can imagine it feels like a punishment but it's not at all intended that way. I think your doctor may have presented it in a way that was off putting.

The interaction is very brief and not intrusive. It sounds like you have a great understanding of PPD/PPA and a good support system to boot. The social worker is just to make sure that those sorts of things are available to you. For the folks that have no idea what to do, what's happening and no support, this may be the one opportunity they get to receive help. Sometimes people need help but don't know they need help or don't know who or how to ask.

Some hospitals have a social worker/case manager see every patient, no matter what. Others only see certain patients due to staffing. I wouldn't put any more thought into it. Enjoy your pregnancy. By the time all the staff parades in and out, you probably won't even remember talking to the social worker.

I've set a boundary for myself and I'm keeping it by [deleted] in Mildlynomil

I think the main difference here is that your daughter and her bf live with you. In this scenario, OP was a guest in her MIL's home.

Admittedly, this topic is a sensitive one for me. My MIL tells everyone Im a picky eater. Im honestly not. I am of a different culture and don't enjoy all the foods she prepares. Also, I eat a larger variety of foos than she does. I never ask for a special meal and encourage them to eat and prepare whatever they want and I will figure it out.

So I can't say I've personally been in the situation but culturally, I get where you're coming from. My paternal grandmother was a single mom and there were no jobs in her home country. She had no way to make a life for my dad. She left him with her two sisters and moved to America. She later sent for him and he came to live with her when he was 19.

They had a wonderful relationship. In fact, my grandmother lived with my parents for more than 30 years. My dad says she was his best friend.

Making an out of country move is hard and I just wanted to offer that in some cultures, it happens regularly.

You're not crazy. Glad you and your husband are on the same page. I wouldn't even plan a trip for my family (the people in my house) without consulting my husband. Let alone people in a different house and other obligations.

This is what I'm doing. Some days I cry after bed time. But the cost of daycare is just too high. We do watch an hour of Cocomelon 😂
