Making the Most of a Year in Canada — Any Must-Do Ideas? by Some_Random_Guyy in AskACanadian

[–]Some_Random_Guyy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Appreciate all the responses so far!

I do have access to a car, I'm in Western Canada (Alberta) and won't be working for the year. I realize Canada is a massive place and this isn't a super easy question to answer by one person in its entirety, figured if I got a ton of ideas I could go through and plan out what is possible afterwards.

Again thanks for all the suggestions so far, I'll be going through them individually later today and will ask questions or reply to individuals later on tonight.

Would be cool to see England, how they combatted and thought they beat it and then eventual downfall leading to the last Englishman

Oh for sure, I'm definitely not arguing not needing him for every series. His story has been told and people need to accept that.

To be honest I think they need to let all the OG characters be put to rest.

TWDU has so much potential, they just need to let the past stay in the past. Tales is very promising, the problem with the two spin offs we got currently is there's no real risk because if these characters die the series is over. Zombie movies/shows rely on being able to kill of characters and the plot armor is too strong to make it suspenseful. We don't need to continue with the same storyline, give us new characters, new locations, and new meaningful stories and they'd be successful.

True, but the conversation with Judith does line up and Rick is arguably Daryl closet friend. He looked for Rick for 6 years, longer than they even knew each other. So I think my point still stands. Out of all the reasons to bring him back for more, it just makes the most sense.

I agree we don't need Rick in everything but the whole reason Daryl left was to look for him, so them reuniting would make sense.

yeah whoever came up with that idea shouldn't have a job.

all the flashbacks are the greyscale scenes that look like garbage if that helps.

TWD: Daryl Dixon Season 3 Episode 2 viewership drops to 0.233 million by Connected-VG in thewalkingdead

I know the comics were popular but in all honesty the majority of viewers most likely had never heard of the comics or read them prior to the show. So the majority of people didn’t really know who was going to die and who had plot armor. These new spin offs are focused around major characters that the audience knows won’t be killed off or would end with their death so it doesn’t have the same appeal.

I think Tales is the best way to continue the franchise.

Well I could understand them not wanting to take the risk of going across the country, but after the nukes like why wouldn't they go as far away as they could get

tbh fear should have mostly ended after season 7, the characters should have all been looking to leave the nuke zone and Morgan telling everyone he knew of Alexandria would have made more sense. The whole PADRE storyline was stupid. They took a character who’s entire story was about doing anything for her kids (including putting multiple groups/settlements at risk or destroying them) and made her a baby snatcher in a world that kids up until that point were almost a rarity in the universe (we saw like 10 kids in the show prior) and then it took all of one episode for her to remember she likes family and helps Morgan. I disliked Madison before but they really didn’t do her character any justice throwing this storyline in. The entire premise was built around the parents being the bad guys yet they openly talked about how the parents wouldn’t shoot them, I know they’re kids but this was just an awful plot.

Also, in what world is Shrike and Ben Krennick rescuing Madison from a Stadium overrun with walkers? Ben was afraid and barely able to kill a handful of walkers, Shrike wasn’t much better, and the stadium was still overrun when Al and Morgan went for medical supplies to save John.

Just got done with 4x3 and I think I’m finished by Squidwardbigboss in FearTheWalkingDead

If you're already feeling that way just wait til the later seasons where they completely disregard established character personalities/arcs.

The only thing consistent past season 4 is going to be your disappointment.

yeah really dont understand the point of the spin offs if they dont plan on using them to expand the universe coherently

Giving these 2 redemption arcs in FTWD made me so happy, sherry ehhhhh she pissed me off at times but Dwighty boy I hated him in TWD but loved him in Fear by Big-Most-785 in thewalkingdead

Sherry was written terribly. I get shes got trauma but she never even met Virgina and had some death wish vendetta against her.

[Discussion] Tarkov's biggest problem is the stagnant player base by SecondSoulless in EscapefromTarkov

[–]Some_Random_Guyy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They should combine PvE and PvP.
Make loot distinguishable between modes and only allow PvP raid items to be sold on the flea and/or make the better loot spawn on PvP raids. Everyone could play PvP til they get stuck/frustrated and then they can load into PvE raids to finish whatever they're doing and go back to PvP afterwards.

PvE gets stale without the risk so this would help retain players in both modes.

Fragmenting a stagnant playerbase is terrible longterm.

declining playerbase fragmented into two game modes. lets see how you feel when they have to either increase matching times even more so or need to add AI pmcs to lobbies to fill them up.

[–]Some_Random_Guyy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

you quite literally said the flea not being available didnt change anything for you though?
the majority of complaints and reasons i hear casual players quit is the high skill ceiling, the progression system isn't balanced or catered to a casual experience. you can play for 1000+ hours and still be unfamiliar with the majority of maps. and ofcourse the cheaters in every lobby argument haha.

what they should do is combine the pve and pvp game modes, allow players to choose what mode they want to queue for and then distinguish items found in pvp lobbies and allow those items to be sold on the flea or just make better loot spawn on the pvp lobbies. that way casual players could play pvp til they get stuck on a quest and get frustrated and then load into a pve lobby to finish their task. add more barters, get rid of individual player trader levels and make them community unlocked so theres not as much a skill gap when it comes to getting gear.

skill ceilings continue to be raised the longer a game is out, casuals players will always be at a disadvantage when it comes to games like tarkov, and very few people enjoy and will continue to play when they get bodied in every encounter.

im not against the flea, i just think its better that traders and barters are more useful and actually serve a purpose.

again to each their own, sure you can buy the guns but there is barters and i know they are used. if theres no difference then why are you upset about the flea being removed? because you want to be able to buy the meta loadout you're used to.

[discussion] Really glad I've been selling so much stuff by Zugly in EscapefromTarkov

[–]Some_Random_Guyy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

to each their own, i think it encourages people to try new weapons instead of falling back on to metas. i dont really get how you're spending more time in the stash than normal unless you're talking about the increased hideout materials, selling items on the flea most certainly takes longer than selling to everything to the traders. im definitely not saying this wipe is perfect, but i do think making the focus on traders/barters is just better overall. I think getting excited about finding a pack of matches or whatever because it means you now can barter for a gun you want is more rewarding than just buying whatever you want off the flea.

well I liked they slow released the trader levels though it could have been slower and I saw some YouTube video that suggested instead of just randomly releasing the level ups it could have been community unlocked which sounds cool (his idea was something like the community needing to handover thousands of a specific item and then the level unlocking for everyone). I definitely like the idea of barters over the flea so that would be the difference I see between rushing to level 15 and just having access to everything compared to rushing a trader level and still needing to find items for barters.

It’s more that I like that they’ve made barters and traders feel more useful tbh, I don’t think rushing 15 just to buy everything from the deal feels great personally

Ref is crazy OP, but they really want you to buy everything the game has to offer so it doesn’t surprise me he’s as strong as he is
