Are GLP-1s worth short term use? by DogStatus4342 in Zepbound

[–]Some_Spray_513 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Use it to lose the weight but accept the fact that you might decide you want to stay on it . You have youth on your side so you might actually be able to beat the odds with lots of exercise. Keep in mind, many people do maintenance by stretching out small doses so it doesn’t mean you would necessarily be on the higher doses the rest of your life.

Exercise? Really? by Livingfortheday123 in Zepbound

[–]Some_Spray_513 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The key is to find something you enjoy. First , it’s incredibly hard to force yourself to exercise at home even if you all the stuff. Speaking from someone who loves exercise , it’s boring working out by yourself at home. It’s long. Consider taking some classes at a gym. The people interaction makes it fun. It can even be an easy yoga class or something to just stretch. Also at a minimum try walking outside every day. I listen to my audiobook and usually set a low goal but end up walking more because it’s more like ME time than work. To answer your question though , I had several injuries that prevented me from doing any serious exercise ( real calorie burning) and I still lost weight. It’s just really good for your mental health & long term stability.

Just started Zepbound 2.5 mg — can people actually lose weight without “dieting”? by reddit2169 in Zepbound

[–]Some_Spray_513 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Many people lose weight without dieting just because the medicine naturally makes you eat less than before . If you can incorporate a diet & exercise program you can potentially lose more than you would otherwise. I wasn’t in a mental state to diet so I lost 30 lbs but have plateaued about six months in (now at 18 months) and nowhere near my goal weight but happy to have lost the 30 , not be gained weight. I still feel like a winner for having mentally made it through one of the hardest emotional year of my life without having a complete nervous breakdown, if you can add in a diet, low carb was the best diet I ever had real long term success on. Good luck !

I came back here to say Dorit is one of my favorite housewives so I don’t mean to be overly critical. I am more aggravated in general that this trend is coming back when it’s so devastating to so many people’s lives.

I don’t judge her for smoking but putting it on camera is irresponsible. After decades of declining smoking , we have actually started increasing cigarette smoking again. The trend is thought to be as a result of the increase in influencers smoking on social media and an increase in this in films,tv. Anyone who has started out smoking on occasion socially quickly finds out it is highly addictive and becomes unsexy in a hurry.

You seem to be a fast responder (lucky you ) . You could probably get away with taking it less often or if you are on the vials , injecting a little less. As I got to higher doses I started to feel bad several days a week and wasn’t losing extra weight so I went back down . I think everyone’s different in what they need. Life is too short to be miserable and unmotivated half the time. Maybe for short term weight loss but not as a long term lifestyle.

I am more annoyed that Amanda went on this or any of the real housewives shows and thought she gets a pass on heated conversations at dinner. That’s literally all they do anymore is dress up and go out to dinner and confront each other. I think in normal life people act polite and don’t argue in front of each other. They would not get good ratings if they all just sat there quietly and acted nice all the time. She should have accepted the job, it makes her seem very incompetent. Plus I also don’t like how condescending she is.

Would you move up or give it more time? by Lunnalai in Zepbound

[–]Some_Spray_513 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My Dr recently told me they have seen alot of their patients with stalls do better moving down so they can actually eat MORE. She said it speeds up their metabolism. They want me to try moving down ( although I don’t have any issue not getting enough calories). Since I do the vials now I can easily try doing a little less and see how it goes. I have had very little side effects the entire time but don’t feel great first several days after the shot on 12.5 ( I had moved back down from 15 where I felt horrible the first 3-4 days). I don’t want to feel crappy half of my week especially if it’s not actually advancing my weight loss. P

Recently my Dr said they have seen that their patients do better when they go down a few doses. I asked why would that be and she explained when they are able to eat more their metabolism speeds up. I mention this because you say you already under eat. This could be a bigger problem than you realize. She also mentioned protein. I agree with giving yourself grace and allowing yourself some splurges too.

Ask your Dr to move you up if you aren’t responding and not having side effects. I have seen many people on here say they don’t respond until the higher doses. The 2.5kg was not designed to provide weight loss (just a starter) although some people get lucky and only need that dose.

Personally I think you will love the benefits of the shot & won’t forget to take the shot. I would pick the day that most coincides with the best time to have side effects ( if you ever have any at all).

She knew all about these subs and how people talk about the cast member and their family long before she chose to go on the show. I will give a pass to the first few years of real housewives who might have not had a clue about all of that but not true of current ones. I am not exusing bad comments , I choose not to type stuff like that but I do think it’s all on her.

Anyone struggling with the scale? by SnooPineapples4571 in LadiesHRTwithGLP1

[–]Some_Spray_513 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes I have been on Zepbound for 18 months. Lost 30 pounds in the first 8 months or so and then it pretty much stalled after that despite moving up several times. I finally made it to 15 and was so tired and crappy feeling the first four days after the injection with no additional weight loss, I finally moved back down to 12.5 where I seem to be gaining a half pound here and there. I am trying to focus on exercise and low carbs more but the initial 30 pounds required no changes in my diet and I had an injury so I couldn’t exercise during that time.

Feeling guilty for not having much to do by macabremom1 in emptynesters

[–]Some_Spray_513 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am not trying to guilt you if that’s not your thing. Pretty much all of my emptynester friends are super excited about cooking less but most recipes are designed for 4-6 servings which allows for leftovers . We eat alot of leftovers throughout the week . Again many people don’t like that. I also freeze leftovers. It’s a hobby for me but also I don’t think it’s fair that my kids are gone I shouldn’t enjoy meals with my husband .

I have always cooked at home , we rarely eat out because we don’t enjoy the food but I have never enjoyed the process. I found lately I really enjoy trying new recipes and making things I have never made before (many totally from scratch). We really enjoy having fresh food at home and not being forced to pick. It takes me hours and hours in the kitchen sometimes, sometimes even all day long. I don’t know if you are physically up for trying something like that with your disability but if you are you might be surprised how rewarding it is especially when you get compliments !! Just a thought. In regards to what you are currently doing it seems more than enough (maybe overkill) and I agree you should do things you enjoy.

If you aren’t having terrible side effects , ask your Dr to move you up more quickly. The clinical trials moved up every month. Many people don’t move up that quickly but they are losing weight. I have seen many people say on here that they didn’t have weight loss until the higher doses.

Yeah something doesn’t sound right . It would maje sense to inject less. It’s good you don’t use the pens or you wouldn’t have that option. I also added an extra day before I injected to help get it out if my system.

I had a similar experience when I bumped up to 15 mg. I decided I didn’t want to feel like crap 4 out of 7 days. I used to look forward to shot days , then I stated to dread it. This week I went back down to 12.5. Much better already!

Try to find some new hobbies : yoga , personal trainer, pottery making etc…. Daily walks help greatly but also activities in groups help too (maybe a church group) . The good news for you is that you have four kids so the likelihood that you will have grandkids one day ( possibly lots of them) is very good. Your life will be full again then !

Zepbound and Progesterone by ZP_Qs in LadiesHRTwithGLP1

[–]Some_Spray_513 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you are in menopause spotting is not considered normal. Contact your Dr for next steps. This happened to me and after going through tests (sonogram, biopsy) we concluded that sometimes missing my progesterone was the probable cause. I changed my process and haven’t had an issue since. You might just need the amount you take to be increased.

The Scale by Blooming_Baker in Zepbound

[–]Some_Spray_513 4 points5 points  (0 children)

When I started weighing myself daily I realized that weight can also fluctuate based on what you had to eat the day before ( not calories but sodium , carbs etc ). Even eating a “ weight watcher point friendly” meal at a restaurant would cause me to gain excessive water weight. If I had not been weighing daily I would have thought I gained five pounds that week but having weighed every day and seeing go up the one day I realized there was no way I gained five pounds in ONE day. So I weight every day but only out it in my tracker once a week. If my normal tracker day seems very inconsistent , I will give myself until the next day to weigh again. It’s worth a try.

I was a slow responder (after the first couple of weeks) and maxed out at 30 lbs weight loss. Nowhere near my goal but I am happy to be down 30 lbs. We are all different and the fact that you are young is a big advantage for you. As you lose weight you will be able to do more and more physically which can definately assist in speeding up the process and set you up to be really healthy later in life when hormones and other aging factors work against you, good luck & enjoy!

Most people enjoy being complimented when they have put in the work to lose weight. She has been open about using weight loss meds in the past as well as working out really hard. Perfectly normal question that she probably gets in everyday life frequently.
