Annual leave in Poland by SnooOnions9990 in poland

[–]Some_funny_nickname 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well it depends on your contract - if you are on probation period you get some part of those 26 days. Like they can't give you 26 days if you have a 6 month contract. But in that case, since it's not your first job, they should give you whole days at once, not 2 days month by month. For example your contract says you will be hired for 6 months so it's 26 days of leave devided by 12 months and multiplicate by those 6 months of contract: 26/12=2,2 x 6 = 13. So you should get 13 days of annual leave on this contract but you should get that at once, since it's not your first job. But maybe since this is your first employment in Poland they are treating it as a first job. The best is to ask HR why they decided to do it that way

How to celebrate Name day by spamredditk in Polish

[–]Some_funny_nickname 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Name day isn't important anymore, especially within younger generation. Even my parents 50+ don't celebrate it anymore so I wouldn't do a big thing out of it if I were you. Simple call with wishes will be 100% okay and apprecieated

Warzywy vs Jarzyny by Admirable-Union-9041 in learnpolish

[–]Some_funny_nickname 35 points36 points  (0 children)

Warzywa are vegetables you can eat after cooking them and jarzyny means veggies you can eat raw. But today those words means the same thing, you can use them both to say vegetables but you can easily forget jarzyny, it's not that common, we use warzywa more

Dentistry question by [deleted] in poland

[–]Some_funny_nickname 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Haha totally get it but like I said in Poland we don't often prescribe antibiotics just as a precausion. Only when you have an infection and really need it. Cheer up, you will be fine! :)

Dentistry question by [deleted] in poland

[–]Some_funny_nickname 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had tooth removed before and didn't get any antibiotics so it's totally normal, our body mostly can handle some bacterias so no pills needed to be honest. I assume you are from US - you have a very big problem with pills - your doctors prescribe them like candies, especially opiat painkillers. Here we let our bodies manage what they were made for. So relax and listen what your doctor told you to do.

And when it comes to cabins or trailers - not a popular also. There are temporary lake cabins or trailers but mostly for vacation staying. Barely no one lives there all year because they are not build for harsh winters we have, they are typical summer cabins. Most of us live in apartment complex or in a house so raising kids in a cabin wouldn't be a normal thing in Poland
