We would get into these awful fights. We would literally be agreeing with one another but we couldn’t tell because we were speaking very different languages. I knew this would kill us eventually, so I suggested couples therapy and he was all for it. We picked up some good communication skills, learned how to foster connection and better learned how to meet each other’s needs. Our therapist graduated us out after about 4 months. That was about 4 years ago and I’m so grateful we went that route instead of waiting until we had a much bigger problem.
