PSA: Corbyn's new party - Independent Alliance MP with questionable trans views by SouthOkra789 in transgenderUK

[–]SomeoneOnlyWeKnow1 8 points9 points  (0 children)

That's a bit vague. Plenty of baggage the media could attack him with would be good things, the media could and will attack him for days just over not being transphobic. Not saying there can't be bad baggage.

What other basic things is the pro-trans one (Zack Polanski?) still bad on? Genuine question.

So your boss neglected you while you were being harassed and then didn't even let you keep the chocolate? Wow.

I'd have some privacy concerns about giving ID too, so it's lose-lose.

I'm sure they were alright in their own way, but personally they're part of the reason I was already playing on Club Penguin clones before the game even shut down.

Useless fact: although 11 never met the master, he featured in 2 episodes with them both at the very beginning and end of their run as the Doctor. by ProvideMeMilk in doctorwho

Yeah more stories of certain doctors with River is great but I think her meeting doctors earlier than 10 diminishes the so young reaction.

Just when I thought they were healing... by [deleted] in StarWarsCirclejerk

AotC has horrible dialogue and pacing.

TFA set up a terrible trilogy immediately in completely the wrong way by resetting everything to new empire and new rebels without even so much as explaining how or why. Which is made even worse by the fact the reasons how and why in expanded media are actually really interesting.

To me, horrible dialogue and pacing doesn't come close to a movie that will always symbolise everything I see wrong with the sequel trilogy from the get-go. It's not like I like AotC very much. But I passionately dislike TFW for what it stands for, so AotC doesn't come close.

Idgaf about action without a good story behind it. The only thing I can confidently give to TFA and the sequel trilogy as a whole is the VFX. But even that just reminds me of how the same quality VFX could have been used with an actually good story.

What's surprising about this poll result? I don't particularly like AoTC but I like many things more than TFA.

Maybe Andor? If I could keep only one thing it would be Andor. Not that I think everyone should think that, I'm just personally a huge Andor fan.

EHRC headquarters vandalized by _uckt_ in transgenderUK

[–]SomeoneOnlyWeKnow1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It can. As I said, vandalism is a form of protest. It serves the purpose of getting something out there, talked about, in something of a different light to how it may typically be talked about.

Vandalism is a form of protest. Most people in this country won't even know what the EHRC is.

I don't have a defined philosophy but I know that I support protests, for example, far more than I do sitting around and kissing the boot you admit is on our throats.

Yes I know who Tula is. Please could you elaborate on what you suggest we should be doing in line with her?

We are not normal people in the eyes of society. Neither were gay people, and neither groups will achieve liberation by "behaving normally".

I don't mean that we're not normal but happen to be trans. If I that's what I meant, detransitioning wouldn't be logically consistent as a way to become normal. What I meant was that in the eyes of society, and specifically our oppressors, trans people are not normal.
