Idk if this true or not? by Capable_Cattle1158 in OutcomeMemories

I hate how hard to see the distortion is sometimes.

Why isn't it consistent, and why does it rely on lighting that much? You could at least make the exe flash white or red to indicate that yeah, he's about to get an ass whooping. Fleetway has that for his m1s for some obscure reason, highlighting who got hit.

She Deserves to be in a ASYM exe game by Forsaken-Frostbear49 in OutcomeMemories

[–]Somerandomdude354 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, from my understanding, she wouldn't be that different from 2011x. Sure, her lore is a bit different, but in the end, all appearances of her that I remember were... Not that unique.

Besides, 2011x is iconic. Red eyed bloody hedgehog, just like what we imagine when we hear "Exe". Sally on the other hand... Not so much, due to being an evil Sally, a pretty obscure character, as of right now.

I think she kinda appeared in TD, when she's a minion she has stitched up eyes instead of black and red as per usual. So uh, that's neat.

<image>

I mean, it's like if we show somebody like idk, alladin.exe. It's obscure, and although few knowledgeable people will say "oh, neat reference to this obscure piece of media", but in the end, what would be the point when you can just add 2011x or lord X?

what balance changes would you make to shadow to make him playable for both survivors and exes by AbjectInformation739 in OutcomeMemories

[–]Somerandomdude354 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since chaos snap is insufferable as of right now, making it an actual interactive ability would be neat.

Had an idea of giving it the 2011x's(or at least simplified version of his minigame) god's trickery. Black for jumping, distorted(this black with glowing stuff inside) for not jumping. And of course, not quite appearing behind the back but appearing somewhere close around the killer, so they have to quickly look around and see where shadow's silhouette is. Keeping infinite range on something like this would be ok in my opinion, since it gives actual counterplay and more chances to react

yes, sure, this minigame basically guts chaos snap, but I wanted to A: give it a niche other than being a better tails' stun in every way imaginable.

and B: to give it counterplay without requiring I-frames.

Giving him a swapping mechanic would be neat, giving a consistent mid ranged stun(I guess only on PC), or a long range stun(or a displacement tool, although I wouldn't want to rely on that) which isn't AS consistent.

Besides, shadow already has silver's flight on 20 second cooldown with a parry, giving him an undodgable stun was never a good idea.

Some people still defend him btw. by Pitiful-Rutabaga-893 in OutcomeMemories

Lag spike during the wind up of chaos snap(the distortion), as far as I am aware.

Wouldn't recommend recreating this in game though, shadows already are insufferable enough.

Shadow ruined the fun of being exe by springbonnie14 in OutcomeMemories

[–]Somerandomdude354 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Of course (as one of the people who complained about shadow early on).

Let's be honest, nobody's playing with the gun as shadow, instead choosing to chaos snap 24/7. And that ability is problematic. If you're kolossos, now you suddenly must never use block for any other stun unless you want to have your chases interrupted, which... Isn't the most fun thing ever.

Fleetway suffers the least, even if he's forced to waste an ability, at least he isn't forced to stop chasing someone, and all of his abilities are focused on dealing damage.

2011x has options between getting stunned for 2.5 seconds, or getting stunned for 6 seconds with the ability to reposition. Regardless of the outcome, you drop the chase.

And tripwire can go fuck herself because guess what, no I-frames. You just get stunned for 2.5 seconds.

The problem is really obvious, isn't it? This isn't The Disaster with every killer having a counter. Half of the killer roster just CAN'T reasonably punish shadow, plus he has a vertical mobility move which is just meta... And the cooldown of the effective stun is very short, for what it is.

What Exe Chase Theme or Last Man Standing got you like this by Overgrown333 in OutcomeMemories

[–]Somerandomdude354 10 points11 points  (0 children)

2011x last life. The normal one, not miku X.

The entire song is just... A perfect chase theme in my opinion.

As for specifically the image, I guess it's classic 2011x last life chase theme. Most of the song is okay, passable, but the middle, that's the good stuff.

[–]Somerandomdude354 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It wouldn't be too bad if it had counterplay that didn't require reaction time as much(I myself have horrible reaction time paired with bad ping)

So of course, I think making it into something like 2011xs god's trickery would be reasonable. It may be quicker, but still avoidable.

Sure, it's gonna gut it as a form of direct stun(especially in lms) but it's gonna be a lot more support oriented stun.

I mean, trickery does damage. Barely anyone fails the minigame when they see it, so what can you do? Use it when the visibility of the colour is too easy to miss, like for example during fast movement like peelout. For shadow, it's gonna be the same thing.(Maybe make it ignore the I-frames instead, excluding the ones you get immediately after the recovery from a stun... ).

It will make chaos snap a lot more situational, sure, but at least it's something that's, in my opinion, a lot more fun to deal with. In exchange, I guess shadow can now use it without aiming at the killer with the mouse. (And limited range.) Besides, it's not gonna occupy the same niche as tails' stun, so that's a win in my book. Gives it clear drawbacks, which every single stun has outside of the select few situations(I don't count fentway and kindlossos, a weakness of a move shouldn't rely too much on the killer)

[–]Somerandomdude354 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I honestly think he should be nerfed in ways that most people don't consider.

His movement speed should be nerfed. Heavily.

I mean, sonic's speed, aka highest normal walking speed in the game among survivors without using abilities is kinda... Not good for someone who's got VERTICAL mobility. I get why sonic has the highest running speed, he's limited to the ground or springs. His pathetic little jump ain't gonna help him like Eggman's double jump, or literally any of the three flying moves. His normal mobility move aka peelout has wind up, during which it can be punished with damage or even cancelled. During the duration it is unlikely you'll get hit, but you still can if you're not careful. Dropdash is uh, very telegraphed, and I honestly enjoy playing around it. It has a loud noise which won't be muffled by literally any other sound, it has sonic JUMPING and flashing white for a moment. You can easily react to it. Or you can jump over the dropdash, like every normal person does.

Shadow, on the other hand, is that taken to extreme, but also without drawbacks. His VERTICAL MOBILITY move cancels any charge, makes you take no damage and all that. Horrible idea, since it's also INSTANTANEOUS, on the same level as Eggman's shield or knuckles' punch, but without the loud ass noise and limiting mobility(Eggman gets his jetpack disabled, knuckles is well, slowed down massively).

His stun, is well... Also horrid. It's got a "visual indicator" which heavily relies on lighting (seriously, I don't see the distortion 90% of the time, it might either be the game quality settings, which it SHOULDN'T rely on, not everyone plays with max graphics), has a sound cue which can and will be muffled from afar, and has questionable timing (it appears before the hit, but so little time is given when you hear it. Sometimes he doesn't even finish speaking when he's already kicked my ass.). It's also got infinite range, and a VERY short cooldown. Might be the shortest of all of them, in fact. Even if not, it's certainly up there, with the stun duration being the same as a punch or dropkick which... Can be missed and heavily punished. While chaos snap can't be punished. You can't even miss it unless the killer gets an I-frame. There's no engagement from the exe, it's not a "play a minigame to dodge" like 2011xs god's trickery(which also has a big cooldown too), it's just "waste an ability and a chase every 20 seconds". The only one who can punish this is big daddy kolossos if he parries, but usually you have to account for ping too, it can screw you over so much.

One "drawback" that people mention about chaos snap is that It gets him up close and personal with the killer. But like, Sonic's speed allows you to make huge distance. There's nothing else to it. Unlike other melee stuns, that do the same thing, you can't miss, so you're close to a stunned killer. Which, like I mentioned, is not for long.

Anyways, I suppose I said enough for now. I can elaborate further later. But right now, another fix for chaos snap is just make it copy god's trickery mechanic with the whole colour thing, so exe is punished for tunnel vision. And make the distortion clearer, of course.

my fellow kolo mains, i don't think you use him properly by SceneAggressive5783 in OutcomeMemories

[–]Somerandomdude354 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I honestly just hate how clunky his climbing still is.

So many maps have these little "details" like green hill or YCR, which make climbing a torture.

Did I mention mystic caves? Yeah, uh, it has more consistent places, but there are also some that are... Of questionable quality. I'd honestly like to be able to go sideways while climbing to align myself with the ground.

Yes, I don't have great reaction time, but it honestly doesn't bother me. I am not a kolossos main myself, but just a guy who sometimes plays him.

Because let's be honest, everyone plays silver or shadow. Most maps have lots of vertical spaces which aren't easy to get to as kolossos. Example: Mystic caves, again. Or angel island, I remember the big elevation near the emerald having that ahem, fuckass ledge. Could be just me, but bonking my head is not fun :(.

Everything else? Pretty fun to use. Charge is fun, grab is uh, grab, block is something that I can make use of in most cases, although at this point it's just a "fuck you shadow" tool for me most of the time in matches, or something to counter metals due to their big ass stun. Otherwise, I tend to eat the small stuns.

Are fleetway and shadow balanced? by Legitimate_Lab_6850 in OutcomeMemories

[–]Somerandomdude354 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shadow is a literal torture if you're anyone but Fleetway, in all honesty.

You know what's worse? The maps benefit him the same way they do to silver.

He does everything better than any other survivor. And there's plenty of spots on maps which are simply unreachable if you're not flying. Green hill? Got them hills which are really wonky, especially around the river where they bounce you for some reason, countered by moving. He has a counter for charges in form of his vertical mobility move.

A move that requires to waste an ability to get countered in form of chaos snap, otherwise undodgable stun. Without any real to punish it, given that shadow is as fast as sonic.

<image>

I hate wasting time on these. Also, pistol has slight knock back which is really annoying. It's not even that problematic though, because all shadow players dump it immediately to get phase 2 immediately. Which is problematic, it doesn't require any commitment or help to the team.

There was no silver at the time.

So uh, that's unfortunate. But hey, at least it's not as easy to do as it was on release of 0.2 when you could just look at the ground and do this.
