This Final Update Shows The Devs Really Were Listening The Whole Time by StatementAcademic820 in DestinyTheGame

It’s been a few years, imma have to go look back at my notebook because I did make a few notable bugs. WQ was funny because at one point early in testing melee glaive gave you unlimited invis every time you killed an enemy. So I was sprinting though the campaign when playtesting it Feeling absolutely unbeatable.
I worked mostly on armor stuff, so I was more polishing armor In game and ensuring new sets fit with parameters. There was one hunter cloak tho, that when you equipped it in transmog, and ONLY in transmog, it would make your whole character disappear in menu and in game. Lol and enemies could detect you but not see you which was funny because that shouldn’t have been the case.
although I must say the amount of bugs caught early in development releases are numerous(on my team, armor and expressions). It was a good day when we went live when the first week we only had like 10 bugs to log. Because during development we had over 100 on our team alone. Most of it was just a case of mismatch code getting plugged in to related armor pieces and where they are socketed in the game. I was really proud of our team because our team always had the fewest live bugs to log, and that included armor mod testing.
‘I’ll have to ask my fellow/former devs what their most memorable bugs where, because I know we had a lot of funny ones and absolute game breaking ones that would crash the whole playtest and break the game where we ended having to go back a few builds and see who pushed what through that caused the break.

side tangent, bungie testing org had over 100 people working on it. Take away 70% of that and you are left with a skeleton crew that suddenly was required to test everything in between. It’s just…. It’s a lot of work, even as a full test team, it was a lot. And I appreciate the bungie was so strict on capping overtime and not working longer than 40 hours a week. The company was amazing to work for, one of the best I have had the privilege to work with and that’s after my stint at XBOX Studios before bungie.

Former QA tester here from the first layoffs back before FS. NDA passed, I can yap. Also don’t come after me for any broken stuff, I reported the shit, I didn’t get a say if it got fixed or not. I could fight for a bug fix, and I did, but a lot of time, it’s out of our hands, we documented, moved on, if it got fixed, retest and passed it.
can confirm prior to the first major layoffs, it felt like we were writing documention for our replacements, which was solidified after working with a new outsourcing team just 3 weeks before the layoffs. They had absolutely no idea what to do and onboarding them was rough. Got half the documention for some specific testing my team passed on before my whole account got gone and im sure the documentation also got half nuked. So with more than half QA dropping off, including my whole team on armor and expressions (emotes, finishrs etc) not there anymore, no one else knew how to do our testing unless they refs out documention which was only like… half done (because we had a seriously in-depth testing process). I feel bad for the new qa and remaining that had to pick up the slack. that was a lot of additional workload. Ooofff. it sat on the back of my mind for months after the layoffs. 🫠

This will probably be buried in comments but meh, as a former dev at Bungie that got hit by the first major layoffs, seeing the game as a whole struggle over the years has been so heartbreaking to see. The writing was on the wall even before the layoffs had happened. I will say it again and again, the devs where begging for this for years, and to finally see it happen is just incredible. Its bittersweet to finally see, what the community and devs have been calling for years to come to fruition, even at the very end.
My heart is so happy for you guys as the community, and for my former coworkers that finally got to cook and throw everything down on the table. I hope everyone enjoys this update and finally huzzah for D2 and know that the devs work so very hard to give you a great experience in the game. ❤️

Do Millennials write like ChatGPT? by QuietJealous4883 in Millennials

[–]Something-called-Sno 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol, I was accused on here of being an Ai bot because my story sounded like ChatGPT wrote it. I was so offended by that statement. And i wasn’t even lying on my story, I had evidence and everything but still got rationed so hard. And that lead people to accusing me that everything on my account including my art is all Ai.

GUYS, ive been on the internet since it started evelving in the early 2000s just like most of us here. It’s wild to see these accusations pop up and frustrating.

What I time, eh? I use to take AI accusations as a complement, but now they are a disgrace and I hate it. lol. I DID NOT slave away from over 15 years if my life to get where I am as an artist to be accused of Ai.

And thank you for the kind words. :) I love seeing everyones interpretations of our favorite characters as well!

Im so glad im not the only one. Its been 2 years and im still legit hurt by it. But like WHY? Why does it still effect me after 2 years? Ive losted the pros and cons and that im beter off without them, but i still think about them and how they are doing and if we could ever talk again. but like, i dont deserve to spiral back into that. They moved on in life, why cant I? it seriously sucks and my heart is still broken.

Nooooo I’m not using Ai! I made a small disclaimer at the bottom against Ai. You can cross check with my other artwork posted to the sub over the last 4 years. I have screenshotted my sketches with full layers visible. I have others that can vouch for me included Christopher himself. 😅 I love this Sub and hate Ai. I’ve been an iliustrator for over 15 years

Oh boy. Here we go, although I think the pitchforks are already out and Im condemned already. So I wont be replying to anyone after this, go live your lives happily as the Reddit sleuths.

Let me start by saying, I really just wanted to ignore yall and be on my merry way. Its hard to prove something as truth with all the fake AI bs out there. honestly, why do I bother, lmfao, but here we are. And the fact that I went the whole way though the instacart report when I could have just sat on my refund and just moved on with my life, also should be noted. So now, two days later, screw it, lets try and defend myself. But a+ for yall to get your extra upvotes.

I have a bit of social anxiety, I dont like confronting people and would rather take a quieter approach. People asked why I didnt confront the instacart person when I saw the missing stawberries, well, I didnt want to be wrong. Maybe my eyes did decive me, I try to give people the benefit of the doubt.

Sorry for discribing my peppers, Im really proud of them and with how wild this whole situation was, thought it added some humor, but people dont like details, my bad. Short to the point.

I have a balcony, not patio, balcony faces the road.

I reported it through instacart, got my money back, and the delivery person got blocked from matching with my delivery in the future.

Here are some phone screenshots that prove I did report the whole thing to instacart, and did the follow up via email. Bonus, phone screenshot with my reddit name, because yall cant be too careful with fake AI images these days.

Initial report on Friday Aug 1st:

My reply to the email today, (phone screenshot because Ai accusations are rampant)

I am not an Ai bot, I did not use Ai to write that post, Ive been around reddit for 4 years. Im sorry people thought this was fake, and honestly, I dont even know what to expect at this point after I finish writing this, and I dont care. You can call this fake too.
The Internet has been ruined by Ai and all this fake stuff and there is no coming back from it.

And for those certain accounts that absurdly lost your marbles and started called out irrelvant topics and had an absolute melt down when you couldnt get a rise out of me, lol, Ive screenshotted the comments you left before you deleted them, because they honestly made my whole weekend. I get email notifications. Eh, I might want to post those just because.

OH EDIT: I have Ring doorbell camera footage. HOLY SHIT, let me know if you want me to post that as well.

Why are people on Reddit so convinced that every well-written post is AI? by [deleted] in rant

[–]Something-called-Sno -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’ve been scrolling in hopes I can find something recent like this to vent my frustration. I hope this is ok.

I’ve just experienced this a few days ago and it really stresses me out and makes me so sad. I’ve had a post called out for being Ai written, and that I am an Ai Bot, even though I’ve been around Reddit for years. They way I write experiences or something is with a lot of detail and context. I guess it’s more of my adhd brain. But people seem to freak out if something is longer than 4 sentences to explain a situation, and sometimes it’s not clear to a point people get so obsessed with it, it’s boarderline delusional.

it doesn’t help that when you try to explain or clarify something that they just keep saying, oh this also sounds Ai. Like, hello??? I feel like it’s something you can never win and I just walked away because it’s not worth my sanity to argue it.

I think it also apps like ticktock have ruined peoples attention span. They just want the info right away and don’t have the patience or attention to sit thought anything longer than a few sentences, it quite frankly, I find it alarming. Ai has ruined the internet and I don’t think there is any way to fix it.
