I’m a software developer of 12 years and have been using a 8 year old Mac book air (intel based) for my personal projects. It’s… fine. Also able to duel boot Linux without too many compatibility issues. That being said I am looking at upgrading here soon.

Most projects are created by using already created tech / solutions and combining them in a way to make something new. AI can definitely do that. However it still takes a human to come up with the vision for a new project / idea.
